Just spoke to "Mike" @ bilstein regarding Sport Shock/Strut vs pss10

I mentioned my application was 90% street and 10% auto x. He said that the pss10 at the hardest setting is softer than the Sport shock/strut (depending on which spring is matched) So for a daily driver the coils are best with occasional track usage. He also mentioned that for the pss10 kit they had to compromise and find a spring that could be a "do it all" regardless of the firmness setting so even at the 10 level (hardest) it was still streetable.

Whereas the shock spring combo is more versatile where a driver can match it to a softer spring like Drivergear or eibach sport for daily usage, or a race spring and go balls out.

he did note that he only recommends 1" drop springs regardless of spring rate for the bilstein sport shock/strut kit.

i can't say for the pss10
but when i spoke with the r&d tech about the pss9
he told me the springs are progressive, but in the meat of the working range they are 350 front, 290 rear

thanks. finding spring rate info is a PITA, let alone verifying it.

yeah, those rates are really low considering its progressive, and the car is over 3100 lbs

my last car that weighed 500 lbs less, had stiffer rates than those
