Coming from AWD subaru legacy (w/ a good deal of understeer), and also driving a real tail happy 80's 3 series bmw...
I havent heard too much about understeer in the GTI yet, is anyone putting bigger sways on the rear. I like a pretty neutral car, i am not sure if putting a bigger rear sway bar would induce unwanted oversteer (hard to correct in a FWD) any comments?

Tune your car with springs, dampers and alignment settings. Big sway bars reduce feedback and, as a result, make it more difficult to correct the car's attitude.
On the other hand, oversteer in a FWD car is easy to correct--just step on the gas! |

not thinking about bigger sway bars yet.
i agree with bubba about the correction of oversteer, but without pulling your hand brake you will most likely not get into any type of oversteeringing situation. i would think the bigger sway bar will make the car closer to neutral, but i don't it'll be at neutral. |
