Lower Engine Mount Question

I am trying to compare the Autotech Lower engine mount insert (L shaped piece of metal) to the Neuspeed/ECS Polyurethane insert. I searched and it looks like these go in the same place and serve the same purpose, but has anyone tried running them together? Am I correct that they serve the same purpose but in different ways, or am I wrong all together? Input would be great from someone who has tried both.

correct.

i would not be able to answer if you were "all together wrong". i would say that its a 'safe bet' to assume that there are times that you are partially correct.
so, in theory, you are not "all together wrong".

i don't know of anyone that has tried them both. as they both do the same thing, there would be no reason to get them both unless their first purchase went south on them.

I purchased your Dogbone Mount about a week ago and got it installed on saturday morning. After the install, I noticed I was getting a lot of vibration in first gear from a rolling stop. When starting to roll from a complete stop it feels like the car is going to stall out (DSG transmission). Also, when in reverse the car shakes quite a bit. I followed your install instructions to a 'T', so I'm just wondering if it needs more time to seat? I've had it in for about a 100 or so miles. This is the only mod to the car (2008 VW GTI 2.0T FSI). If there was something I missed, or am doing wrong please let me know so I can get it fixed. I've had numerous people point me in your direction when it came to this mount ( and getting rid of wheel hop in general). It cut my wheel hop in half, I was kind of hoping for more..

Hello,

If installed properly it should smooth out over time. However you are installing a stiffer mount which will of course transfer some vibration into the cabin. To get rid of some of the wheel hop, that is the trade off. Over time is will smooth out to where you will hardly feel it.
