vs. B16 Civic Hatch

I've always been a Honda guy and still have passion for Hondas . My friend has a swapped Civic hatch, complete with intake, headers, and a full catback. We've run from a roll before and after me pulling away initially, he seemed to continue to creep up. From a dead stop, it wasn't even close for half the race. Until about 50 MPH, I was winning by 3-4 car lengths, at which point he again started creeping ever so slowly toward me.

For a $4,000 pickup, I'd say very impressive on his end.

I wasn't mad, I was agreeing with you.

I'm still hesitant to "challenge" civics in my G35 becaues if I mess with the wrong one... how embarrassing would that be. :redface:

They're really amazing but only in terms of speed. They look like $h!t and they're as loud as a fking jet.

That civic didn't have any ricer light mods on his brakes right?

I think his rotors were heating up and giving off light..

Ranges because of variables in USDM and JDM cars.

B16 = 1.6L 4 cyl. DOHC VTEC - ranges from 150hp - 185hp
B18 = 1.8L 4 cyl. DOHC VTEC - ranges from 142hp - 200hp
H22 = 2.2L 4 cyl. DOHC VTEC - ranges from 195hp - 200hp
K20 = 2.0L 4 cyl. DOHC VTEC - ranges from 160hp - 220hp
K24 = 2.4L 4 cyl. ????? VTEC - ranges from 160hp - 205hp

....fucking Honda and their engine swaps....

I believe that's called brake boosting.

Haha... I see these guys around all the time. They're usually at the friday night starbucks meet in Colma and occasionally i've seen them show up at the Lawrence meet.

never done it but I think it's where you press on the gas and brake at the same time to build boost during a roll race. Not sure if our ECUs prohibit it or not. Go give it a whirl. :)

That's the same as launch control.

Except... it's really bad for the car.

Is LC bad for the car too? I don't think they'd put anythign that'll damage the car on the car itself.

Naw man that was a at least a gsr motor with a T-66, which makes sense on around 400 hp. he didn’t know how to keep the revs high enough (Cause Hondas are only fast when they are redlining it)

Im just wondering why you would ever swap to a B16 and not a K- Series. My freind just swapped his EK from a B16 to a JDM K20a3. Baller Status.
