Equity firms aren't exactly known for caring about the long term success of companies they buy. They'll strip off the parts of the business that lost money, get the leftovers to operate at a profit long enough to get their money and ditch it to the highest bidder.
If you read the thread. It was the CEO that was at fault for the company going belly up. The guys that work there had nothing to do with it. They just should have put as much effort into their financials as they did with their marketing.
Not too surprising when you see the way the very publicly threw money around. I don't know of any other tuners with their own R8 race team, private track, etc... And even a lot of the tuners who weren't as extravagant have gone under. Too bad, APR does/did have some decent engineering talent, hopefully the mismanagement hasn't cost too many of those guys their jobs.

Just read the VWVortex forum, which is now locked, and also another Audi forum, wonder why that is. Wow lot of hate out there. Though am wondering with some of those comments, why 4 months later APR still seem to be in existence when it seemed there was so much doom and gloom for them.
Heard that some weeks ago....doesn't have any effect on me other than hpfp warranty if needed, but I already decided to use another hpfp option if the APR hpfp ever fails. Having had the new deals with VW Racing makes one scratch their head
