100K Drivetrain Warranty?

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me find some info on this. I've been searching for information related to the 100K warranty eligibility. I just got my 2008 MKV about a month ago and most of the posts out there on this are old with links that no longer work.

Does anyone know how to find the vin range for cars that were subject to this warranty? My DSG is a little shaky and I'd like to find out if I'm covered.

Call a dealer and ask.

I tried calling the dealer that originally sold and serviced the car to get the service records but they wouldn't give them to me and told me they couldn't give me any info about the car without the original owner's permission... I bought the car from a non-VW used car lot, so they aren't of much use either.

I was hoping someone on here might have the original notice with the VIN range.

I would think regardless of the previous owner's permission or not they should tell you if you're still under warranty or not. I just called the other day to check on my status for the cam follower extended warranty, told them my VIN number, and they looked up what warranties I had left and if there were any open recalls/repairs. I'm also not the original owner of my car and the previous owner never came up in the conversation.

I'd say call a different dealer. Any of them can run the VIN.

Yeah, the dealers are not created equal so try another one. I'm not sure, but I think only certain parts are covered at the higher mileage. Early DSG mechatronics should be covered, GL.

Also, it's not just the mileage. Time frame comes into play. I recently learned I just fell out of the extended cam follower warranty because it is 120k miles or 7 years, whatever comes first.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to call another dealer and have them run the VIN. The car is covered under a 60 day warranty from the used car lot I bought it from but I don't trust them to do any repairs correctly. I'll check with another VW dealer and report back if anyone else is interested.

are you asking about the extended warranty on emissions related parts? i'm not sure about a standard 100k warranty, but there may be a bunch of parts that are covered up to 15 years or 150k miles. i'm going to do a write up on the info soon, but pm me if you need some more info ASAP.

Here's an update for anyone who was following this. I ended up contacting VWoA to find out if I was covered on any extended warranties or service notices and I found out my car was included in the 100K DSG warranty.. :happyanim:

Here's the email i received"

"Congratulations on your new GTI! Welcome to the Volkswagen family.

It is my pleasure to provide you with information on your car’s extended warranties. Please know all warranties begin on the original in service date. Here they are in brief:

Center High-Mounted Stoplight LED – 10 years, no mileage parameter
DSG transmission – 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first
Intake Manifold Runner Control – 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first
Positive Crankcase Ventilation – 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first"

I ended up taking my car into to Tyrol Sport to have it checked out a couple weeks ago, before i received this email. I highly recommend those guys for anyone in the NYC area. They found no major issues and no codes and suggested I get the DSG flushed since it's been a little off. Anyone know if I can get the flush done under warranty now?

Has anyone had to have service done related to the other warranties they listed? I haven't heard or read about the issues associated with the PCV or intake manifold. Also, I assume this means I need to have the incremental service done at the dealer now rather than an outside shop or I risk the warranty coverage. Can anyone confirm that?
