DM E85 tune

Pardon my ignorance when it comes to E85. Like many here I have been looking at what DM tuning has to offer. I see they offer an E85 tune and was wondering what it takes to run it. The website says something about splitting fuel 50/50 with normal pump gas. Does this mean when you fill up you're gonna have to pump 50/50? What hardware is required besides a dp? Is this a k03 safe tune, and is it even designed for the k03? The numbers look pretty compelling, but all that torque sounds dangerous for a FSI bottom end. I have little to no knowledge about E85 besides that it makes for quick cars. Could someone or DM chime in to unboggle my mind. I currently run APR's 2+, and If E85 is a viable safe option I would deffinately consider that route. Thanks guys, your imput is welcome!

Personally I would run wm vs e85. I have e85 available all over the place here. E85 is very corrosive compared to normal gasoline. It also has a lower energy content meaning less mpg. It is around 105octane give or take depending on manufacturer ect. I personally worry about rubber parts in the fueling system ect that aren't made with a flex fuel system in mind from factory. Furthermore the sensorsect all need recalibration ect for higher oxygenation content. Again my personal recommendation is not to run anything more than 2-3gallons as an octane booster for 93 oct from 91 or a bump from your 93 oct. I prefer the wm for many reasons and feel the extra wear and tear from e85 and lower energy content negate the tiny upfront cost and minimal price per gallon savings vs water meth. Powerwise its basically no different than a race file just another way to utilize it. You will however see a big difference by switching away from apr to a stronger running file.

Good information to know. Like I said I'm pretty new to E85 and what it's all about. If it really is more corrosive to the fueling system I'll just look towards a different tune. I had originally planned on a turbo swap this year, however, I now have a wedding coming up. Maybe I'll just look into DM and their normal 2+ tune with w/M.

Dm plus wm tune is way to go imo

And that is the direction I am looking. Im a tad bit more familiar with W/M than I am with E85. Needless to say, while my car pulls pretty strong, I had disappointing run in with a bud's lightly e36 M3 that had no issue staying with me until partway through fourth.

Makes sense the M3 weighs about the same and if moded with a full exhaust, intake and ecu probably puts down more power. You need race file for sure to keep up with him. Ko3 doesn't have the same torque band as the ko4 either so it hits the peak fast down low then tapers off almost immediately.

Do some research on E85. From what I've seen, there isn't much proof that it's harmful for our engines, gas tanks, fuel pump, or fuel lines long term, especially if it's just a 50/50 mix.

There's a big thread on Mazdaspeedforums. The Mazdaspeed3/6 use a direct injection motor with literally our same fuel pump (factory and aftermarket).

Here's a pretty well-done thread by a friend who started testing it in the Mazdaspeed community.

http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/forum/f567/e85-discussion-hpfp-lubrication-flow-issues-79030/

He tested 100% mixture, but got some sludging issues in the HPFP.

50/50 users (including another friend of mine) have no such problems. E85 is something I'm strongly considering, so I'm doing as much research as I can to be sure it won't damage anything.
