Nice job guys - got my original thread closed. Please keep this on-topic. If you want to sling mud simply start your own fucking thread.

I'm copying over relevant posts from the original thread here.
------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the dyno chart with my best baseline run from yesterday on APR tuning and a good run from today. My first run today hit 316WHP but it had some issues (maybe clutch slip) so Bronson thinks it's best to toss that one out. I P-chopped the lines off the chart. My goal was to make this as fair a comparison as possible of what APR's off the shelf tune does compared to what DM can do with some customization. The only hardware difference is a 3bar MAP sensor ($40) that I swapped in last night in 20min. I got baseline runs with APR yesterday at about 4pm and comparison runs with DM today around noon. Same dyno, same temp, just slightly more humid today because it was overcast and we had some light rain. if anything the humidity would have hurt the DM results slightly.

I'll let Bronson chime in on the tweaks he made but I shot him several sets of logs early this AM and he turned around revised tune files within about 30min. I can't emphasize enough how responsive DM has been. I don't have any issues with APR and in fact my car was running 100% free of issues with the APR tune. My goal here was to see if DM could get me more out of it.

For reference, here are my mods.

S3 K04
S3 injectors
APR HPFP
Eurojet FMIC with turbo discharge and throttle body pipes
BSH intake
BSH catch can
Milltek TBE with hi-flow cat

So...the results: +29WHP, +45TQ

APR K04 - 275WHP, 280TQ
DM K04+ - 304WHP, 325TQ

Input from Bronson @ DM
-----------------------------

Quick synopsis. Torque comes on early and strong, Midrange has a ton of punch. Boost pressure didn't exceed 2640 mbar through the midrange in the data logs predyno. At the top end, the tune is making the same boost pressure as anybody else due to the physical limitations of the compressor.

There was only 1 tweak made otherwise this is a completely 100% off the shelf file. In the data logs, there was excessive timing pull. I pulled some off, but according to the dyno not enough because that groove at 6000-6500 RPM is almost surely ignition related which is a shame because it is a simple tweak away. Not sure why this particular set up had an issue with ignition advance relative to the beta tester but overall, can't complain too much.

The dip at 3300-4300 RPM is 100% by design, you hit a physical limitation in the form of compressor surge. It could be ran straight through, but I prefer not to push the bottom end and I don't like the effects surge can have on the K04. Appears that both files have a dip at 4750, not sure what that is exactly. In the data logs, there is nothing there to cause that.

Anyway, happy with the results, wish it could've been perfect and I could spend time making it perfect for his car but in a way, that would of taken away from the results.

The guys at the shop were pretty fucking impressed with the results. They are an APR dealer so they have seem some Euros but they mostly deal with American muscle - had a Mustang top 1000WHP today - but they want to have DM tune an Audi RS6 for them :)

Looks good man! I'm curious to hear your feedback on the driving characteristics of the car now too. I know my stage 2+ WMI DM tune was alot more fun to drive than my apr tune.

Just went out to grab some logs and holy fuck 3rd pulls hard all the way to 7k+. I'll update after I get more seat time. I'm also going to run on a Dynojet this week for comparison to the Dyno Dynamics.

Looks awesome dude, AFAIK 300+whp on this kind of dyno is pretty unheard of for a K04 without meth

Now all we need is some TSI tunes!

I wish the 316whp run didn't have issues. It went 316, 304, 300. It's common for the first pull to be the highest though for some reason. My baseline pulls on APR were 275, 264, 260. The chart I posted shows the best (first) APR run and the second DM run.
