DIY: Grease the Tensioner Pulley

Had a squeek which I narrowed it down to the tensioner pulley. Did some research and could not find any info. So here you go.

First I used a 5/8" wrench to release the tension on the pulley. I used a nail in the aligned holes to keep the tension released.

Then I removed the top two bolts with a 13mm socket on the tensioner pulley. In order to get to the bottom bolt I removed the belt off of the alternator and pivoted the tensioner pulley to the rear to gain access to the bottom bolt. I used an 8" extension and a Joint on the socket.

Once removed I used a T40 bit to remove the pulley from the tensioner.

Then I used a very small flat head to remove the cover from the bearing.

Greased the bearing and reinstalled the bearing cover back. Press firmly with a large flat head to seat the bearing cover.

Reinstalled the bearing back onto the tensioner and mounted up the tensioner. Put the bottom bolt in first and put the belt back onto the alternator.

Took about 20 minutes to do the whole thing and it stopped the squeek.
