OK... I messed up!

This was something that I was just not looking at when building the high pressure fuel pumps. The feed side of the pump?

Everyone is saying that the banjo bolt and line are the best option other than the current offering. I agree, and that is why I never looked close at the current offering... duh!

Here are some pictures showing the push on fitting and our new modified push on fitting for the latest release of the high pressure pump upgrades we are going to offer.

Every fuel pump we sell will now have this modification done to it. The back side (see image) has an opening of 5mm, the front side is 1.7mm, why? Hell I have no idea. Its like VW forgot to drill it all the way out.

I just got done running both line options on the pump dyno (did it Friday) and the results show that the drilled out push on fitting flows more fuel than the banjo bolt and line option (very small % but it did flow 5.5% more fuel).

All the time we were just expecting customers to install the older design and never looked close at the push on line option. Now... everyone can have there cake and eat it too!

Thanks guys and remember, every pump we now build will have the modified low pressure fitting and if any of you are running one of our current fuel pumps and want this mod done, please send us the fitting and we will drill and debur the fitting for you and mail it back free of charge.

5.5% is nothing to sneeze at, that can be the difference between getting a fuel cut and not getting a fuel cut when the tune pushes the engine. Nice modification and props for offering to do it for people who have the old design.

Yeah that is a great offer to the people that have the old design, just plain outstanding customer service.

Thanks guys.

Yea, 5.5% is something!

We are here to help and I apologize for missing this part on the pump. I just never looked real close at it to realize that... duh, its open all the way until it hits the neck down right at the tip of the fitting. Its easy to open up and all our fuel pumps from here on out will have this upgrade. To be honest with you... anyone that has this fitting on the car would benefit from drilling out the restriction as well as the company's that offer upgraded fuel pumps... hint hint.

Not going to make a different if they have the line across the intake manifold that has the same restriction :)

Low pressure line?

I have checked the high pressure lines and they are all open to 4.6mm or larger. I don't have access to any of the low pressure lines.

Please more details on this.

So if I drill out the fitting on my stock pump I'll also get better flow?

Will not the pressure from the LPFP drop?

You probably didn't notice my other question since I edited my post after your reply. I was concerned about losing pressure from the LPFP to the HPFP.

John this is what Chris is talking about this is from the TSI but its the same type restricted LP hard feed line to the HPFP. The barb like ends on each side of similiar to your before drilled out " push on fitting " size.
