Mk5 golf steering warning light on..

Hi Guys, been a while since ive been on here. But i know you lot are the best of the best for knowing your stuff

On Friday i had coilovers fitted to my Mk5 1.6fsi Golf, its been perfect. Then, last night whilst driving a hit a small bump and a red symbol of a steering wheel lit up on my dash! I grabbed my manual and figured it was the power steering, yet my steering only feels slightly stiffer. Ive had the battery off all morning to see if itll reset but it hasnt. You guys got any ideas of what to do next or what the problem may well be? Thanks very much

had this problem before, also happened when i hit a bump...took it to the dealer and they said some sensor behind the steering wheel failed and it had to be replaced...under warranty XD...got lucky lol

Had that light come on on my '08 R32. Turned out to be a Haldex failure confusing the computer

cheers guys youve put me partly at rest! Had so much to do today (HID's, Lower front coilys more) but this just bummed me out..
