This process is super easy, but I'm sure a little guide will help comfort those who aren't familiar with modifying their car and want to start with something simple.
In this DIY, I'll be replacing my current (stock) fog light bulbs with Nokya Hyper Yellow bulbs (purchased from eBay <$15 shipped).
Items needed:
-9006 Bulbs (color of your choice)
Tools needed:
-Philips head screwdriver
-Torx driver or bit
-Flat head screwdriver (optional)
*Precaution: If you try to do this mod immediately after running your foglights for an extended period of time, you may burn yourself as the housings get hot.
Let's get started.
Step 1: Grab your philips head screwdriver and remove the screw securing the foglight grill.
Step 2: Using your index finger, reach into the fog light grill and pull towards you. Gradually pop each of the clips out until the fog light grill is detached.
Step 3: Grab your torx driver/bit.
Step 4: Remove the 3 torx screws surrounding the fog light housing. (don't lose them)
Step 5: Remove the wiring harness by pressing the retention clip away from the bulb using your fingernail, or a flat screwdriver, and pulling the wiring harness and bulb apart.
Step 6: Remove the bulb by turning it counter-clockwise, then pulling straight out.
Step 7: Grab your replacement bulb. (*Do not touch the glass, do not get dirt or liquid on the glass...handle with care)
Step 8: Insert the bulb into the housing (it only goes in one way), and turn it clockwise to secure it in place.
Step 9: Reconnect the wiring harness, secure the foglight in place using torx screws, replace the fog light grill, and secure the foglight grill using the philips screw. (picture of how to replace the foglight grill)
You're done.
Below are before and after pictures of my install. My camera didn't really capture the true color, so I've photoshopped the after photos to show the true color these bulbs put out (came out near perfect to real life output, if you ask me). They're definitely not as yellow as the dubbers who use yellow bulbs+yellow film, but they're bright, they're yellow, and they're less than $15 shipped.
