Evolution Racewerks Competition FMIC (Preview)

I've been looking to upgrade the stock intercooler for awhile now, and looked a several different ones. However my buddy and owner of Evolution Racewerks told me to wait and that he'd make me a custom FMIC (they already had the template and everything created for our cars, just needed a test car). Well now its christmas break and i'm here in Socal till January 4th so i said to myself nows the perfect time for the APR k04 upgrade and FMIC!



With all that being said this is ER's competition FMIC which is good up to 800+ HP!! This FMIC will blow anything out of the water, ER were the ones who fabricated my turbo kit on my old car and also made me a FMIC for that car. ER's reputation is well known for making the best intercoolers for mainly Audi's and now BMW's especially with the N54 engine.

Mon Dec 20: Core and endtanks are made and a test fit was completed
Tues Dec 21: New crash beam is being created to fit this monstrous intercooler, if we have time we'll start the pipping today also
Wed Dec 22: This day will be dedicated to finishing the pipping and do all the finishing touches
Thurs Dec 23: APR k04 kit goes on the car!

***UPDATE***
finally after being at Evolution Racewerks Mon-Fri 12PM to 10PM (Fri was 1:30PM to 5:30AM!!) the car is ALL DONE :happyanim: the k04, FMIC, and RNS-510 are all installed and here is the finishing result! Keep in mind NO MODIFICATIONS to the bumper were required to make the intercooler fit I'll post more pics soon!

they're planning to mass produce two models: the competition (which i have) and a sport (smaller core).

care to share some information on the IC?
Who makes the Core?
Dimensions?
Volume?
Do we have to trim the bumper or foam?

The core is a ER core, dimension is 24x12x3 and volume is 864. As for the bumper no modifications are needed we put it on after we had the core in place and it fit perfectly, you will however need to relocate the horns on the car, and as for the foam i'm not sure we'll find out today

Er makes amazing products. You can be assured it will be an amazing product.

Seems pointless to have something that big up front that is being blocked/restricted by the bumper.

So i'm still at the shop, and the redesigned crash beam has been designed and will be included with every competition series FMIC!

Again if er is doing it, based on all their other setups I have witnessed, the final product will be one of the most efficient and highest quality ics out on the market period. These guys don't mess around. Go call WMS in van nuys and ask them what ics they recommend for the b5 s4 or search the bmw 135 forums and find info on their ic setup forthat race vehicle. The S4 coolers are far and away the best upgraded cooling option for that platform.

yup mike from wicked knows his shit and he knows the best shops. He's very knowledgeable about our cars in general too.I believe what he says cause he is damn good at what he does..

i see him at the gym all time with his gt-r or his 1000whp gt35 997 turbo. fucking great guy with a great shop and awesome cars.

thats a sick IC!!! where is the shop located at since your down here man. i wanna come by and check that thing out first hand!!! esp if you get the k04 too!!!
