So after installing the catch can its been two weeks i seen temp in the low 20 to the mid 50 for the two weeks..
on the dipstick when i would check it i only saw droplets of condensation..
so i thought it was empty..:iono:
so today i had some time i took of the hoses and unscrewed the can..(which is a pain in the ass too do!! they need to come up with a better way to hold the can in place cuz using a socket to take that nut off takes forever!!!):mad0259::mad0259:

anyway here are a few pics of what i found..

in the can there was a bit of condensation on the bottom..

on one side of the can and the hose was a bunch of white gunky looking guuuu:thumbdown:

inside that same hose also.. so i clean the hose and catch can with some break cleaner..and put it all back together..

but i still did notice like a bit of that creamy color guu under my oil filler cap like i did without the can!!
isnt the can supposed to get rid of that problem???? :iono::iono:

I find it easier to just unscrew the lines and then take off the 3 torx bolts that hold the mounting bracket. Then take the whole thing out, bracket attached and drain it.

How often do you drive? Does the car warm up fully every where you go? Do you do a lot of city driving? I get the same milky stuff on my oil cap in the fall and winter when I do short drives. Take a longer drive and let the car get nice and hot and youll see a huge reduction in the creamy substance or youll see it go away entirely. I did.

If you want to take the can off quickly/easily, get a racheting wrench.

Or do what I do to drain it, buy a syphon hose from Home Depot or a dollar store for $1-3 and drain it from the dip stick hole.
*Cut it to size as need.

thanks for the advice... yea i didnt think to take of the bracket itself good idea..
yea i do city driving.. 3 to 5 miles one way nothing much.. i dont see this in the summer but like you guys say fall and winter it is everywhere..
but my main concern is i read up on the cans and they are supposed to get rid of the gathering of that crap under the oil filler cap.. but it does not seem to be doing it on the short drives.. which kinda makes me mad..

Hey, thanks for the link , nice can, I like how the hose inlets are oriented in the same direction. Did you just email them to buy?

yup, just email the owner, Mr. Saikou (that's the name he uses), i told him which product i want (OCC 951) and for which vehicle specifically. I told him what size of hose i use (5/8") for the can specificially, he then sent me instruction on how to pay via PayPal. After that, he sent me a mockup of my can in PDF format including the custom brackets that i want for the MKV, and in a weeks time i got my can. And that was shipped from U.S. to Canada.

check 'em out if you're interested.

anyways, back to the topic...
