Scanned my fault code P0089, whats up?

So, I had another thread about how I had a check engine light because I was a little low on oil. Scanned the car and apparently thats completely unrelated.

It was a P0089 - Fuel Pressure Regulator 1 Performance code. Fuel sensor or something? The car drives normal, the CEL went off and I haven't noticed a power drop when driving.

About a month ago I had the problem in this thread. http://golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113731
To quote that problem.
Ok, so this morning I go to start up my car and it stalls out. I'm thinking maybe I didn't give the fuel pump enough time to prime or whatever; this used to happen once in a while on my old silver GTI if it was cold and I just jumped in and tried starting it real quick.

So I let the key sit in the ACC spot for about 5-10 seconds before trying to start it again. This time the engine sounded like it was trying to turn over but it wouldn't catch. Tried again, still wouldn't catch.

So now I'm very confused. Last night I emptied out my catch can, so I pop the hood and check all the fittings; everything was attached fine, no problems there. I tried starting the car again and it starts up this time. Except it's very rough. The RPM's weren't varying or anything, like others have noticed during a rough idle, the car was just shaking. So I turn it off and am even more confused than before. Next time I started it up, turned over just fine, idled fine, and I was off on my way. No other problems for the rest of the day.

Anyone have any insight as to what happened? Should I be worried?

Did you resolve your problem? If so how? I am throwing the code as well.

Sorta, scanned it with a vag-com; it had something to do with the low fuel pressure sensor. I disconnected reconnected the plug to it and the code hasn't come back.

are you sure?.. i have the same code.. my mechanic said i have to go to the dealership cause its still on the warrenty.. but i don't have time for it cause of work.. anybody else had this problem and found the solutions other than unpluging then putting it back (no offence:thumbsup:)

check the part number you got on the sensor and see if its the updated one. if your part number is 06E 906 051E or J i would get it replaces with 06E 906 051 k and it should fix your issue.

Have you vag-com'ed it? The P0089 can mean a bunch of things; mine was this:
012555 - Low Pressure Fuel regulation: Fuel Pressure Outside Specification
P310B - 004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100100
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 5
Mileage: 41853 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 03:21:03

Freeze Frame:
RPM: 1545 /min
Load: 11.4 %
Speed: 22.0 km/h
Temperature: 91.0°C
Temperature: 45.0°C
Absolute Pres.: 1010.0 mbar
Voltage: 13.589 V

My low pressure sensor is either broken or disconnected since the problem is "No Signal/Communication".

Scan your car and post up the code.

Hi johnny. mine has this code coming with the EPC light

It was a factory recall for both a ECU update and fuel pressure sensor close to the HPFP.

Hope this help.

This part sounds like you were misfiring. The rest sounds like you need the updated low pressure fuel sensor.

Bringing this thread to life.... I have the same issue and code. I changed the Sensor and still having the same code pop up. Any other resolutions?
