Twas a most enjoyable day. A round trip of 356 klms, which doesn't seem much. Were l to suggest this cruise again, with more notice, and perhaps on a normal weekend, I'd have no trouble naming it the....."CRUISE OF A THOUSAND BENDS".

Thank-you to Gerhard and his wife Margaret, Danny, and a special thanks to our visiting Sydney member, Shannon and his wife Corinne. And me, mustn't forget me.

Here are a few photos, just for you Rob.

A top drive, road conditions ideal for "Sunday driving", being a bit narrow in places with Chris almost wearing a kamikaze oncoming motorbike ...

The cars all stuck to the road really well - literally - the damn bitumen was molten at Baw Baw, in a number of corners, and even at Trafalgar.

Gotta love the climate control in the Golf - set at 22 and barely an impact on performance or economy, returned 7.6 for the trip, outside temp between 30 and 39 all day.

Nice to meet some new friends Shannon and Corinne from Sydney.

And I just remembered to spare a thought for those who were working, but only a brief one, haha

(Mental note made for a future day trip (early start) to Mt Buller, that would be a round trip of 450ks but a lot more picturesque with more extensive facilities for spending two to 3 hours up there.

Yes, thanks Chris for organising the drive. My wife and I had a great time.

It was great meeting with you, Gerhard, Margaret and Dan.

It was so hot today the tarmac in that carpark was literally melting under our feet and under our car tyres. I now know how Br'er rabbit felt after his encounter with the Tar Baby.
