1. How is it different?

Well without knowing the specifics of every other DSG tune out there it is hard to say how we are different so I will just note some of our features:

Our drive and sport maps are based on sportier factory versions. Most people don't know this but an 06 jetta and can have a different file from an 06GTI and an 06 GTI can have a different shift map in its file from an 07 or an 08. So we we did was find and test many of the shift profiles from some of the sportier versions found around the world like the Edition 30 for example. Starting from these maps we were able to maintain smooth factory like shifting by modifying the files as little as possible to attain the required results.

Our shift points are staggered in Sport mode similar to stock. In first and second gear in sport mode you don't need to rev the motor out since there is not enough load which means less boost and less power, so the shift points at WOT in sport vary depending on 1-2, 2-3, etc etc. We took what was present in those sportier factory tunes and made them more closely paired with that of modified vehicles needs.

For those without the gear indicator present we have activated that.

For those without factory launch control we have activated it.

Stage I files the launch control RPM is set to 3200rpm, stage II files a choice of 3200, 4000 and 4500 rpm. (all current built stage II files are 4K rpm and really even 3200 is useless on the street)

Stage II files are for cars with upgraded turbos, they are essentially the same as stage I files however in sport mode rev out slightly higher to better match the power band of a big turbo application. Stage II could be run on highly modified stock turbo car but most people will only need stage I.

Manual mode is manual. It will not upshift for you at redline it will not downshift for you if you hit the kickdown. It will go back to first gear if you come to a complete stop.

Torque limit increased to 500nm on stage I and stage II files

Flash counters are properly reset to what they were before the software was installed.

2 Is there a special?

For the launch of our DSG software from now until December 31st 2009 all existing Revo customers (must show proof of purchase) receive 50% off our DSG software. Stage I DSG software is regular price $499 is now $249 and stage II DSG software is regular price $599 is now $299.

For those that purchase Revo engine software and DSG software at the same time our permanent price is $100 off on the package. Since we may be missing a few files if your software is not available that day we will extend this $100 off a few days while you wait for the file. You must request the file to be built the day of engine software purchase in order to receive this discount. We do not however require you to prepay and it is up to our discretion to determine same day. You have work and you can't make it for 3 days after we notify you the file is completed sure, you are on vacation for 6 weeks.. not ok

Upgrading from stage I to stage II software is like our engine software you simply pay the difference. So if you installed a KO4 and now wanted stage II you would simply pay the difference of $100 between stage I and stage II DSG software.

3 Launch control activated?

As stated above yes we activate launch control on all applications not so from the factory and also adjust the max rpm depending on application.

We will have more information for you shortly. We notified dealers a few days ago and wanted to give them a chance to familiarize with the product before official forum announcements as well as some of our sales and marketing department were out of the office for a few days so the press releases were not done up. Keep your eyes open for our official posts early next week.

Also just wanted to point out that for North and South America software is currently available for the 2006-2008 2.0t equipped vehicles. 3.2 software will be released shortly we were just getting final feedback from some of our testers about their favorite shift points and then it will be released. 2009+ vehicles VW changed some of the communications so we are sorting that out. Unfortunately it wasn't a top priority compared to some other projects in that part of our engineering so we haven't finished it up yet but we should have that very soon as well.

For the rest of the world applications prior to 2006 are also completed and available but still only for the 2.0t at this time.

Are both D and Sport mode optimized? What do you mean by even 3200 being useless ( i have never used my LC so curious)? Do you change the redline shift point?

The difference between D in the worst US car and the sportiest european car are next to nothing. There are some slight changes to D but it is mostly stock.

Launching even a stage I or stage II car with LC at 3200 results in nothing more then two strips of rubber on the road and lots of smoke. But the rpm is a maximum so you can basically put the pedal to the floor and it won't go above 3200 rpm. However if you have software with 3200 rpm LC and you want to launch it at 2500 rpm you simply just hold the throttle so the rpms don't go above 2500 or wherever you chose.

Ooops edit for the shift points:

In D no they remain about the same, slightly higher in some gears WOT. In sport at WOT they will shift at higher rpms but not all gears shift at redline, for example there is no gain to be had by shifting at 7100 rpm on a stock turbo car from 1-2 so it doesn't rev out to 7100 on the 1-2 shift. In some of the higher gears though there can be an advantage to rev them out further.

The problem with shifting at redline however is that the cars hit a soft rev limiter before the hard one. Since each tuner does this differently soft and hard limiter if it hits the soft limiter before it shifts or even the hard limiter it can actually delay the shift as the trans gets a signal that load was reduced and thinks you may have let off.

Gotcha. Read about how to do the LC but I have never felt a need to use it, and probably never will lol. Maybe after I get a TCU chip will just for the fun. Now time for me to ponder ty.

Kick down as in when you punch it real hard that it automatically drops gears right? When the revs drop during cruising to a point where it might stall, does your flash still down shift one gear?

Also, does your DSG flash improve shift speed like others advertise? Don't see you mentioning that.

Apparently the shift speed is increased according to the guys who have it installed over here.

^ I am just thinking how effective would the DSG flash be on a Stg 1 car, especially since I currently dont have plans go get more power, increased torque wont be very effective for me, nor would the launch control be useful for me. Only thing I'd consider getting this for is the increase in shift speed.

Quicker shifts is not something we directly addressed however it may be present in some of the stock programs we borrowed the shift profiles from.

There is only so much you can do with changing those times. The signal from the paddle to the mechatronics unit cant be sped up and the time it takes to engage and disengage the clutches can only be so fast which is already faster from the factory.

The software will not be for everyone just like any other mod. There will people that see no need for it and others who chose it over even engine software if that suites their need. Some will buy it so that they can have as close to a true manual while in manual mode as they can get. Others will want it for the launch control and others will want to take advantage of the higher rpm shift points of Sport mode.
