So I had my hand on the trigger ready to pounce here:

I figure - hey it's ECS, I have bought from them before, no issues.

So at the last minute I decided to look around and of course I see this right away:

What's the secret here? None? Are they just hoping people don't compare?

I get a lot from Quirk parts as they are kinda local and shipping is like overnight. ECS has some markup but they have everything.

Compare what? One place is a large dealership group, and buys direct from VW, buys huge quantities, and sells essentially wholesale to public. That's their model.

The other is an enthusiast base retailer that has to buy through a dealer network, and caters to a much narrower audience. But they offer a lot of stuff Quirk doesn't, on the enthusiast/tuner side of things. So they are different types of sellers.

Same part sure, but different means to an end.

Someone will always sell it for less, that's the natural law of retail. Just depends who you want to support

Well .. Quirk won't disclose any information about the wiring harness they send with this unit and the only installation related question they will discuss is "this should definitely be installed by a VW dealer!"

There's the answer.

Guess I'll be ordering from ECS.

Nevermind, I went to work on the other one with a hacksaw blade, a dremel and some sandpaper. Much roomier now!
