2006 mkv wont start, tried a few things

So, long story short bought a SUPER cheap 2006 gti 2.0t 6-speed with 171k on the odo, that isn't running. It will turn over, its getting fuel, all the fuses are good, tried jumping it, changed the crank sensor, changed the cam sensor, changed sparkplugs, & coil packs. It does have a cel p0343. Wonderring if anyone had any ideas? I also bought the Ross-Tech VCDS here is the log it took:

Do you know why it stop running? Did you check the wiring from cam position sensor back to ECU per repair manual? Timing spot on? Make sure the battery is fully charged clear the trouble codes and try again.

My guess is that it can't read the crankshaft position, I think this can happen when the crank gasket (gearbox side) is changed inappropriately (I don't know why exactly but that's what I heard). So without knowing the crankshaft position, it cannot time the ignition correctly to start the engine. Also you have a problem with your steering wheel module, but it probably has no impact.

By the way, did you check the engine compression?

Was just getting on the freeway, then it just shut off. No weird noises or feels, just died. I'll check the wiring & double check the timing this weekend. I seem to be getting good compression but my gauge is a pos, it read 110-140

I'd definitely check the condition of the timing belt. Do you know when it was last changed? If it's worn, it is possible it jumped a tooth or two. I'm dealing with this issue right now on my 06 GTI.

(As a side note, you can ignore the G85 steering angle sensor fault, that will clear after a few minutes of it running. Just to help you rule out issues.)
