How much are you paying for monthly....

In 72 months your car will have like 90k miles depending on how much you drive ina year, and at 90k miles that 25k dollar car you own will be worth... like 14k maybe. A 6 year loan is way too long, 5 year is long too, but its average and dealerships push a 60 month loan on you.

Lol, $14K? In dreamland maybe, in 6 years, a 07 GTI with 70-90K miles will wholesale at $8K tops. Retail maybe $11K.

Ya know,..

I have read most of the posts on this thread, and I gotta say something.

We all tried to get the best deal we could. This was the car we wanted, this was the car we wanted to drive, and above all, this was the deal/down payment/financing that we could or would afford. (pending on each ones budget)

Did I get a good deal ?,...YEP,...(in my mind I did)
Did others pay more or less ?,...YEP

Am I happy with my purchase ?,...WUH HELL YEAH,...!!

All Cars that are driven will depreciate, to what degree and ammount is up to the owner, BUT, I can safely say I LOVE my GTI and the sheer pleasure and excitement of owning/driving it is worth so much more than a dollar figure.

6 years from now, well, who knows, But I do know this. I'll have a fine used car when it comes to making a new purchase and I can also guarantee it will be more than the $2,000.00 down I made my original deal with. So to me, Its a win/win situation. I can afford it, I am driving a damn fine 2007 GTI MkV, I am enjoying each and every minute I am behind the wheel, I get looks from others and comments like ,.."Nice car", "Nice ride",,... and the "babes" like it,...and that my friends, to me, is priceless.

Nuff Said,...

So your original $25,xxx wasn't exactly what you paid ;) I calculated based on that value.

Well if you look at a sticker of $25,XXX, add tax and license and my payment was like $425/ mo. The other $100/mo is my 100K worry free warranty. Works for me and I dont feel like I got ripped off. Just the fact that I got a PKG 2 for 25K I'm happy about. C'mon the base price for a 6spd Pkg 0 is like 21900 add 3100 for the pkg 2.....and that puts you at about 25K.

Most folks just post their OTD price. Anyhow, enough about that. Back on topic.

some states don't have to pay tax, and taxes vary by state, correct?

so listing the OTD price, and price with TTL is good in that sense.

Thank you!!. Not sure why GXX didnt think 10% for taxes and license plus finance charge and the warranty would factor into the monthly payment. :iono:

I think you're misunderstanding what I wrote. I said most people post their OTD price, instead of leaving out the TTL. Of course I know TTL factors in a monthly payment, I bought a car too?

I'm only referring to the original post of $25,xxx, no TTL was listed in that post. So when you see that monthly and compare it to the stated price, you tend to go huh?

Here's the original post in case people are wondering what I'm talking about:

Pkg 2 with 17's and 6spd stick, $25,xxx

No trade in
$0 down
$525/mo 72 month with 100k warranty

Obviously, if you stated the final OTD price was 32k, I wouldn't have assumed a 15% interest rate. Make sense now?

I thought I got a pretty good deal. And when you said "he just has bad credit" I was like huh. I didnt even know my FICO was 700+. So when the ran my contract through at 25K and my payments were going to be $425 I was like hell yeah lemme get the exteded warranty too. But its all good. Just a lil misunderstanding on my part.
