I took my GTI in for its first service yesterday (5K oil change).
I asked them to address the fuel line knocking on the firewall issue and also the starting problem. I waited for the work to be done and within two hours she was all fixed.
They knew about the two TSB's so installed a plastic clip to contain the fuel lines and reflashed the ECU for the "excessive cranking". So now my GTI feels like new again with no other issues. :biggrin:
I would like to say thanks to VW of Devon and also a couple of the members on here who posted about the TSB's.
To top it off, the first service was free (it was thrown in when I got the car), so an excellent day all round.
Here's to, (hopefully) many more miles of trouble free motoring........must go and find my lucky rabbit's foot :wink:
