Hey Guys,

Though this was posted on vortex a long time ago, I just wanted to bring to your attention that there is a way to use the phone button on the steering wheel to access bluetooth etc.

With the new California laws, and safety in mind, my parents bought this for me (go ahead, make fun of me on this one)....

Install wasn't too bad...it is actually quite easy, just feels like a mess.

I had problems at first, and Howard at parrotkits.com was a savior. He knows these unites by heart, and told me which wire goes where when I was having problems.

To do this, you will need 3 items:

Parrot CK3000
http://parrotkits.com/parrotsales.html

The SW101C Steering Wheel Controller
http://parrotkits.com/steeringwheel.html

The CP200M Harness (a.k.a. QCVQ-1 Harnesss)
http://parrotkits.com/donotcut.html#QCVW-1

Like I said, Howard at parrotkits.com is the place to go! Products come with very detailed instructions + diagrams

Pics:

Believe it or not, this is what it is supposed to look like...thank god there is a shoebox sized hole behind the radio and climate controls!

Almost done...

Mic location (routed it through dash, up side pillar):

Here is a video of it in action (this isn't my video):

Enjoy!

good to hear someone here has done this.

what was the total cost - after all the necessary components?

Just ordered mine too from the good folks at quickconnectproducts.com (aka parrotkits.com). The CK3000 is about $114 and the wiring harness and Audicon interface is about $184ish--plus shipping which was about $18. The total is a hefty $320ish.

The price of the interface is especially high considering that the Parrot kit is only about a hundred clams--but I guess it's to be expected since it's a custom unit made by some folks who reverse engineered all that stuff in Italy.

This EOS owner had a good write-up too and I liked his placement of the units better. (Easier access during troubleshooting.) I'll probably do a DIY myself.

Question on the mic wire and location, is the wire long enough to go to the overhead console where the stock mic location would have been?

Why did you choose to put the mic at the location that you did? Is it because it was just easier that way?

Thanks.

Yes, in that youtube video...he links to a thread where someone did that. I did not do it because there are many people who have clarity problems when mounted the mic behind the vent thing.

dang...that looks like a mess.

Parrot CK3000 $115

The SW101C Steering Wheel Controller $175

The CP200M Harness (a.k.a. QCVQ-1 Harnesss) $55

is that right? $345 (on the low end) for the whole setup?

EDIT: This does not work with the CK3100, only the CK3000

The price isn't that bad considering what the dealer charges to have sme ugly Motorola mount on your dash.

Well, I kind of inherited my UK .:R32 from my Dad. In typical Dad style, he had factory phone prewire, and the adaptor for his Nokia 6310. I have a Sony Ericsson W950, which they don't make an adaptor for (or at least I can't find one). Plus I'd rather use bluetooth than wires anyway.

So, after my ramblings, my question is: Will the install be any different if I have telephone prewire already? Can anyone make an educated guess?

And that install looks sweet, nice job mate!

Nice Zack, I just wish it worked with after-market head units..I've had that kit in my garage for 3 months now....

I'll probably sell it and get the Alpine Bluetooth, but no phone button...booooo.

it's not bad if you use bt i guess. for me, it's one of those things i'm not really gonna use, so the money could be better spent elsewhere.
