Whats the best radar detector available?

I was looking at radarbusters.com and I've been reading up a little. What radar detector do u guys recommend? Right now I seem to be leaning towards the Valentine 1.

Escorts are the best imo.. and from there depends on how much u want to spend.

Escort is the best for the money. If money is no problem then I guess I would go with the Valentine.

i can tell you exactly where this is going. this thread will degenerate into an argument about the 8500 vs the V1. the V1 people will tout the superiority of the directional arrows, and the 8500 people will bash the V1 for being a 15 year old design and simply say its not as good as the 8500.

fact of the matter is they're two of the best radar detectors available, and you can't go wrong with buying either one. whether the V1 is worth the extra $100 or so is totally up to you.

Valentine One radar. Its expensive but if you want a good one its the only way to go.

I have both the Escort 8500 and the Valentine 1 and usually use the Valentine because it seems to work better allround to me. The direction arrows are an advantage. Both are about the same on warnings, with the Valentine being first more times than not.

Either one can be hardwired. The key is that no mater which one you get...still use your eyes and be ready to brake.
