Replacement OEM headlight lense

My headlight covers are looking like the surface of the moon at this point. Id like to replace just the lens, is that doable? Theres a few DIY's out there for halogen lights but nothing HID specific, there is a lot more out there saying the glue used is not going to come off without damaging the housing.

I see Hella branded lenses on ebay, does anyone have experience with these? Do they have that OEM UV coating (looks like a light neo chrome effect) like factory lenses?

Any tips on replacing them?

Might be more headache than it's worth. I just bought this a few weeks ago and it worked pretty well to get rid of the yellow discoloring and make them very clear.

I have a DA that I could clean them with, oxidation isnt an issue.

Rocks and debris have hammered the lenses leaving gouges and craters. Surprised the whole lens didn't crack. I polished them pretty good and they look good from a few feet away, but anymore than a casual glance and they are beat.

The more I look into it the more it looks like the Halogen housings are doable but the Xenon housings are made like VW didn't want anyone messing with them. I'd like to get fresh lenses and put clear laminex film or one of the more subtle neo skin films on them for protection.

Any updates on this?
