So I just returned from shooting my buddies mk6 at a small, private air field, where we happened to come across the owner of the property and got to talking. He asked if we liked planes, after a couple minutes the conversation moved to cars as he mentioned he had a e-type he was restoring in the garrison they held the planes in and if I wanted to see it. This is the first e-type i've seen in person, its really as beautiful as they say, even in pieces and bare metal.

My boss has a 12 cyl E-type. Bill Gates bid on the car back in the day but lost, so when he went out & bought another XKE he had it restored to match the one he lost on (i.e. the one thats still sitting in my bosses garage)

The guy Gates used to restore his XKE wrote a service manual using my bosses' car, before my boss owned it. Funny how things come full circle like that.
