Mp3 DVD Capibility??

Hey everyone.. I new to this site, looks nice!

I'll be getting my mkv in 4 days!!! :biggrin:

I was wondering if anyone knows if the dvd in the navigation unit can play mp3's from an actual dvd-rom, or will it only read mp3's from a cd-rom?

nope..

..got my car

and in case anyone is wondering, the dvd drive is only for a map dvd.. not audio at all

I'm sure there'll be aftermarket hacks or add-ons to make this possible.

Another interesting note...

The navigation package takes away mp3 playing ability. (the 6 disc changer does not support mp3's) I just found this out by searching through my manual. The salesman told me it was able to play them.That kinda bums me out - I guess I'll be getting the iPod adapter after all.

I suppose if thats the only complaint I have with my car, thats not too bad. :iono:

That does suck!! I love that feature with mine. I have over 100 songs on a cd and never run out of tunes with 6 disks to choose from!! If anybody cares windows xp media center makes burning them disks real easy.

the nav in my dad's Escalade will actually playa dvd movie... dangerous? i think so
