Burlington VW destroyed my engine, review

Long story short Burlington VW destroyed my engine. Ended up getting a Brand new engine put in by another dealership covered by VW. All the details of the ordeal in the Link provided. Whole thing was documented on golfmk6.com over 20+ pages of the thread.

Clifs:
go in for an oil change: tech jams the baffle into the engine, I return back to the dealer. They state they need to replace the camshaft due to damage.

1st repair: Update: burlington did first camshaft repair incorrectly - bent valve rocker

2nd repairUpdate: 1 week after 2nd camshaft car broke down. cause: broken camshaft. Tune was discovered - dealer blames the tune.

Update: katie fox (Assistant to President of VWoA) is contacted by xzt123 - (golfmk6 member) - investigation starts.

3rd repair: Update: VWoA agreed to put in remanufactured head -

Update: cylinder head is put in incorrectly "out of time" - engine done.

update: 7/12/12- Vehicle being towed to Hamilton VW to get a new engine put in, paid by i dunno whom but not me.. VWoa or Burlington VW. Dont care at this point.

Update: 7/18/12 - new engine in - car runs great. Kudos to hamilton vw, highly recommended

some people don't have garages and warranty purposes its easy to justify paper work if you have a problem

Very true. Whenever I get another car with warranty, I'll be sure to keep any sort of record of oil changes, and any other routine maintenance.

A VW dealer in Madison WI put the wrong oil filter in my 1996 VR6 jetta - the ONE TIME I decide to take it in since they sent a coupon for a $30 change and it was dead of winter. 1996 VR6 early models had cartridge filters with metal end caps (which was what I had put in previously). The service department replaced it with the 1996.5 version with fiber end caps. The idiot took one out with metal caps, and didn't even notice the difference when he put in the new one. Basically had no filter for 7500 miles. So glad I used Mobil 1 and the motor was well broken in. So pissed.
