Hi all. Fairly new to VW here. I live in Hudson County in NJ. Bought my first VW Jetta a little over a year and traded it in for an 09 GTI...a little hesitant at first, but I couldn’t be happier. Car still needs a couple things done to it. Work in progress.

Hey guys! Have had my 07 GTI for almost two years now. I like it but I'm having some misfire trouble. Will make a thread soon.

Also, I reserved a Tesla Model 3! Very excited for new EV technology yet I do want to keep my GTI as a weekend car.

Coil packs or spark plugs are likely culprits for your misfire problem. If you have access to diagnostics, you can swap coil packs to see if the misfire moves from one cylinder to another when you trade coilpacks to identify which one is faulty. That or replace all of them and the spark plugs. Should definitely run better with new parts. That is the most common source of misfires, though, from my experience.
