the only good thing is that starting this coming weekend, i will be off friday-sundays so i can actually start going to meets, going out on weekends etc. basically i get a social life back so that will be nice. I sit at a computer all day so its not too exciting but if i know that the engine is going to run for a while ill go down to the fab shop. Im getting really good at welding because of it so i guess thats good

It's not too hard if you use some of those services online that basically setup your store for you. http://www.prostores.com/ is the site my sister used to start hers, but its $30/month so not sure that's what you're looking for. There are so many choices out there for it.

On the other side though I'm sure if you just buy some webspace we can come with a pretty simple page for you and just use paypal as the shopping cart. And if you don't want to pay for that or some specific domain name, we can make one page off of my website and just set yours up there. You can just give people the direct link, or we can point a domain name to it.

I don't have access to solidworks, but maybe jason will chime in because he uses torrents and I don't.

so how does "buying" a webpage work? who owns it in the first place? I have no diea what I would want to call it. Something simple that people can remember easily

Well first you purchase a domain name (ex. drtechy.com) typically like $15/year or less. Then you have to purchase webspace, prices on this can vary greatly depending on how much space you'll need and what kind of site you plan to build. Lastly you have to pay someone, or have a friend who can build the site for you. This also can vary greatly obviously. Most of the time I recommend to people to purchase their domain name from godaddy, they have fair pricing and easy to work with. Webspace, well that's a whole other deal. Like I said, once you purchase your domain, I can add it to my hosted space and we can build the site from there.

Another idea is just to create an ebay store. Much easier, the only problem is then you're paying commission on every sale auction/sale to them.

so, say for example I wanted to purchase the domain eurocars.com. there's ~$15/month. The site wouldnt be very large since I'll probably only start off selling a few parts. Possible a generic home page with links for contact info, product links, checkout screen, the basics. What does websppace usually go for? Is it a one time fee or monthly like with the domain name?

Domain is $15/year not month. The webspace is typically between $10-$30 per month depending. Again though I can hook you up on that side of things since I own space already. Then if you can draw the layout you want, or you can pay someone if you want it to be fancier than I can do. I'm sure Jason would be down to help too. If you look at drtechy.com you can see a basic layout we can do. And we can add tabs to the side, and re-arrange colors and things anyway we want. Just trying to keep the costs down for you.

I appreciate it. Is there a place you get templates for your website from? I guess I could build one up in word or something to get a basic idea of what I would want it to look like. Also I need to stop buying parts for my own car and start buying supplies to make more parts. Got to spend money to make money

Whats up guys long time no talk. Anybody know anyone looking for a well loved 2006 CW GTI ~78,000 miles? APR Stage 1, RS4 Reps, 30% tint. I am thinking about selling mine. I am debating it though.
