I hope this isn't a repost but here is what I found today. If it's not can I get a sticky

first you completely remove the rubber seal that runs the width of the engine bay.

lift up the edge on the passenger side, you will see a pretty big peace of plastic it doesn't seem to move at first. but if you tug on the narrow side first, it will detach then the other side will come off more easy. Find the right angle and it should come right out.

its a rain gutter it keeps watter out of the AC intake so don't throw it out, be sure to put it back when done.

you will see this rubber grommet. pull it out

Voilà

insert coat hanger it looks like its blocked but its only foam you can poke through it.

remove foot-well plastic molding and you should see the coat hanger, if you don't see it keep trying. Pull your wire through.

it should look something like this when its all done.

this is how I ran the power wire to the battery.

PS same grommet is on the drivers side but its harder to get to but it might come in useful.

Damn thats awesome. I ran my amp wire through the firewall on the drivers side. Crappy thing about that is that you have to take out the battery and tray, and then you still dont have a lot of room to work. Good find.

Great find Abe. Tell me if I'm wrong but does that hole look like it could accommodate a 1/0 gauge power wire for audio amplification.

no to 0 maybe to 1 yes to 2 but the hole is in the middle of a nice flat peace of sheet metal and can be bored with a drill to just about any size you want just be sure to seal it. Ill post pics of my wire running through it later.

Thanks for the updated pics Abe. It'll save me time down the line when I upgrade. BTW, where did you mount your amp(s) and where inside the vehicle did you route the power wire?

Dum dum!! Great stuff. Sunroof, pollen boxes (for that damn p9 recall) and anything else you need sealed. Works great for holding bolts and nuts in your socket.

Everyone should have coils of this stuff.

grommit

there is also an available grommit on the firewall behind the battery box. I got mine to thread through there no problem.. From the inside out.. You just need a coat hanger and a little muscle.. and a friend to feed the end in the engine compartment..

Also.. Why would you need to run 0 or 1 gage.. that is rediculous. you must be running multiple amps of 1000+ amperage... 4g should suffice many amplifiers.
