Will this work in a reg GTI? Plug n play or vag com required

From what I know, the part number (as seen above) must be the same for the unit to work. Vag-com is necessary to set flap motor end stops when installing the new unit.

The part number is the 1KO 907 044 BS seen above. My GTI required part # ending with "BN", so it has to be exact.

The part number is listed on the part or can be obtained via Vag-com scan.

And best way to check mine is just pull mine out and look at the back? Sounds good, and then vag com to set the flapper stops... I think this

Easiest way to check is to scan with vag-com; no disassembly required! But if you need a new climatronic control panel, you are going to have to take everything apart anyhow.

There is a good youtube vid on taking out a radio on MKV golfs (or, in our case, the control unit). I'd link to it but I'm at work now... no youtube allowed!
