One of my idiot friends who are rough with my car didn't know how to engage the seat and was violently pulling the top part back broke it along with my head rest
Ok the part below I've been to a dealership, 4 junk yards and called 16 of them and.....nothing.
What is this called??? I've even tried rigging it with wire and no help. So I ask of all please help me whether its a part name, site URL, or even a VW salvage yard. thank you
Goes in the seat rail, when you push the seat forward it stops the seat to the preset when pushing it back to normal
Who's your freaking friend? The Hulk?
It's called the seat friction pad ended up going to a dealer for it $11
Could not figure that out and then I tripped across this in HOW TO: Perform your airbag TSB on vwvortex.Saw mine on the outer side. You should be able to slide the seat forward and just put it in the rail. When you slide the seat back it will reset and should work again.

Bolt your seat back in. NOTE this metal piece. It can slide out of your rail sometimes.
It cannot go in after the bolt is in place.
It slides under that channel, and can't get started with the bolt there.
You might not even see this part come out of your rail.
But if you do, you know where it goes.

Did you ever find one of these?
I was replacing the heater blower / fan and decided it would be easier if I pulled the passenger seat.

It was easier to lay on the floor on my back to access the fan, but while the seat was out of the car,
the same part fell out of my seat.
I do not want to thread jack either, so I have posted my response here: Heater fan problemsI hate to thread jack, but how was this job?
