How do you remove coils with out breaking the connector???

A good tip to remember: Push the connector towards the coil first, press down, and then pull away. Too many people have a hard time with VAG connectors because they put pressure on the tab, so you cannot push it down.

Good info in this thread, almost worthy of putting into the DIY sticky or something.

I learned the hard way that you need to push the connector in the opposite direction of removal to release pressure on that tab. I broke three of my coil pack connectors before I realized what I had done. Those things were a bitch to "de-pin" so that the wires could be installed in new connectors.

Does anyone know the part number to replace a damaged coil pack connector?

I have the pin removal tools to remove the wires from the orignal one.

That's what i've been using for years and i've never damaged any coils.
