Maybe they ran out and instead of having you wait on a backorder, they ran out to get one.

Exactly my point

Like I said, if it wouldn't have been removed....I wouldn't have even noticed or questioned it at all

I guess they just have an intern sit there all day with an X-acto knife, lol

well at least you know, when those fuckers break in half after the second use, where you can get them for five bucks cheaper.

i definitely see where you're coming from though.

on another note, when you're in college and looking for cheap tools, harbor freight is where it's at.

+1, it's a bummer you didn't know that US General was a HF brand.

Not that is really matters, but does HF have a wholesale arm?

WOW thats rediculous, that could get them in so much trouble and like you said its not the $5 that your worried about its just the simple fact that their doing that period. If their doin it with small shit like that who knows what else they could be doin it with.

Where is the UPC cut? It looks like the removed the "suggested retail price" not the UPC. We should all be surprised that more than one company gets parts from the same manufacturer and one sells it for more than the other. I think there is a word for this........ oh right, capitalism. Yeah it's shady they probably cut the "US General" price off the back. Oh well.

How so? It's perfectly legal to buy from a retail outlet and mark things up to resell again. Actually they were very upfront with the brand as well. It's not like it was a bait and switch or sent something that wasn't ordered. It was purely an uninformed consumer in this case.

Professionally, "outsourcing" shouldn't be from Harbor Freight. It's a huge company/seller.....not Uncle Buck's VW Parts Galore at an ebay store

You don't see APR selling a tool that comes to you in a Craftsman package & a Kmart price tag on it

EDIT:
And it's actually not that I paid the $10 for them....that's fine. It's just that where they came from (a big vendor) & the ripped off UPC that is very weird & not right

Like I said, if I bought these on ebay no problem; but I didn't
i think i know what you are trying to say man... i agree with you completely.. but, correct me if im wrong, its like when you are running to the liquor store to get some ice... and you decide... eh im gonna get a 2-liter while im here to save time... you pay 2x as much cause its convenient . i think thats where ECS is getting off. its there all in one. one stop shop. still shady to rip off the upc. but we all are gonna learn from your mistake.

They didn't rip off the UPC you can see the entire barcode in the picture.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Product_Code

How would that help them anyways its not like we all have barcode scanners at home. There is probably a "Suggested retail price" on there from US general. I would also go so far as to say they aren't buying these from HF and selling them. Holy conspiracy theory batman.
