Volkswagen MK6 GTI Prep in San Francisco

Last week we were up in Menlo Park and San Francisco taking care of a nice fleet of Volkswagens. The new GTI is definitely a step above the MKV in terms of styling and the new interior touches.

Lined up waiting to be detailed

Cleaned up with ONR or the like or were they beat up from shipping and you needed to use a DA?

They do look pretty amazing actually, especially in person. They had one at Sunnyvale's dealership and I took a trip with a few members to check it out on one of our meets. Anyways I'm not sure so sure about the Golf, doesn't look that great like the GTI just my opinion.

What is your process for these cars, just a wash?

Uh Oh!! Paint defect in pic 11 and 12, edge of hood, left of VW symbol.

The cars belong to VWOA and are were used as Press Vehicles by automotive journalists.

Process:

Clay and Coat of Meguiars Wax applied by PC
Interior is cleaned with All Purpose Cleaner etc.

Good eye! Rock chips already as the cars have between 1000-2000 miles on them.

Michigan plates? And why in the **ll do they insist on those wheels? That would be mandatory removal if I considered buying one...........

Meguiar's APC

Michigan plates due to the fact VW used to be headquartered in Auburn Hills, MI.

is it just me or do some of the GTIs look like they have 3 lights per cluster in the headlights (pic 12) and others look like they just have 2 (pic 2)? maybe it is just the angles, but in pic 12 it seems like there is a 3rd light on the top in the center of the housing that is not present in the one in pic 2.

EDIT: ever mind - i guess bi-xenons are no longer standard on the GTIs - the ones with three lights are halogen headlights.
