Hi guys

I need to get a bigger car baby on the way. Its 08 GTI manual with leased for $360 a month 36 months left with 4500k on the clock. 15k per year.

Is there a chance i could just have someone take over payments maybe or sell it or maybe trade it in. How much will i lose.?

Please help a GTI Owner :0

your best bet is probably trying to trade into a jetta or something...
im pretty sure you cant sell a lease, since the car isnt technically yours

no matter what you are going to take a hit

There are a lot of factors but you can sell your lease. I remember seeing a news short on this very issue and about this guy who created a website...

http://www.leasetrader.com/

...to help people do the very thing you're trying to do. There are some pitfalls though which I do not know the particulars about, but that site should get you started. Read your lease contract though to be sure! Hope that helps.

Why not borrow a car seat and load it in the back and see what room you have?
The GTI has more room than my old Neon, and I never had an issue with the car seats or kids.

We have never caved to the "I NEED a Minivan" mentality.

You people make me laugh
you can give the car bck to the dealer. there will be some sort of charge though.

Yeah, the charge is the rest of the amount of the lease. Lease termination fees are ridiculous. You do not want to go that route.

OP, why is the GTI too small? I have a friend that has 2 car seats in the back of his '07 Rabbit and they fit just fine. Its their main family mover.

I have no problems fitting my son and his car seat in the back of my GTI...it's a 4dr which helps.

I have an eighteen month old niece and I carry a car seat with me all the time. The only complaint is moving the seat forward to get her in there. Otherwise she has plenty of room in the back. I can still fit two people in the back seat (depending on how well they like each other, if you get my drift)

I have an 8 month old and am getting by just fine with my GTI. It's bit of a pain at times, but it's not worth taking a financial hit over. Treat your baby right and drive him/her around in a GTI.

I get around myself, the wife, the 4 year old and a 6 month old just fine in my GTI -- plus the bags, strollers, extra chair, etc in the hatch just fine.

thanx for the response guys

what happens if you turn it in early? what fees are we talking here? If you just take it to them tell them you dont want it. Are they going to sue you or soemthing.
