Piano black interior trim part number list

It's weird. They kept telling me there was none anywhere in the country and asking if I wanted to cancel the order. Then one day I got an email saying it was ready for pickup.

Anyone know how go about replacing the shifter trim frame? I have the Ali express piano black version and I’m gonna try to make it work, just exactly sure how it is held in and I don’t want to go braking my existing one.

I'm abot 98% sure I saw the inside of a Golf TSI SEL that had all gloss trim, including the glove box and door panels. I haven't seen one personally but I thought the early Mk7 Golf R's were straight gloss black and not the faux carbon of the GTI's.

I have a 2016 R, and all of the black parts are glossy. I wish they were all dull or carbon, just so they would be easier and faster to clean. Don't ever sneeze on them. Or wipe with a dry cloth. I only use a duster and a damp microfiber cloth to remove spots.

So I just finished up my AliExpress digital dash install with AliExpress piano black trim pieces, except for the shifter trim surround which I ordered from ECS using the provided link, was only $40. Everything fit fine and I actually think the black shifter trim surround that I ordered from AliExpress initially would probably have fit, The only differences I could see is in the picture below, circled in red are two little sections that seem to hold the piano black trim in place are raised a little bit more than the OEM part. I’m not even sure if it would effect it fitting as I didn’t try to clip in it and even if those little protrusions caused an issue it would be very simple to trim them down a touch. So overall I am very happy with the AliExpress trim pieces. If anyone wants the aliexpress shifter trim surround let me know and I will give it to you for the cost of shipping unless I have any luck returning it.

@Klrider44 In deep hindsight, some of the issue folks probably had is that Mk7s outside of the US had EPB.
I found out, when doing the EPB retrofit, that the entire center console is different.
It's likely the trim piece I ordered (and referenced here) as not fitting, would fit the center console for EPB.

Had you tried to install the AliExpress part you would have found another trim piece on top also doesn't fit/line up.
The securing tabs could be shaved off completely and then the piece glued in place maybe, that's far from ideal.
