GTI Engine Oil Level

Here is an image of my GTI's engine oil level reading from the dipstick... this is right after an engine oil change (filled with 5L's of LM 5W40).
the oil level reading is under the letter "A" (above "X") right at "MAX". Yes I checked after 30 minute drive, after parking on a flat surface, waiting 10 minutes after turning off the car.

If I filled with 4.9L's, it usually sits at the letter "X" so below the letter "A"
Closer to the upper bend, under "X".

For those who check their car's engine oil and keep it at the correct level, I would like some feedback.
I know not everyone has the time to check and keep at the correct level... I do so because of the oil consumption issue with these cars and to keep the engine lubricated at all times.

I checked today, and it's below the first upper bend, I'm going to check again later after work, on a flat surface, after turning off the car from normal warm engine operating temperatures.

After getting an oil change, it's above the first upper bend touching MAX (the "X") embedded on the dip-stick itself.

ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE ON ENGINE OIL LEVELS, and every other fluid in your vehicle(s).

I check mine after spirited driving and every few weeks and it’s always below the bend. After I change the oil it sits just below the bend. I add 4.9 quarts for an oil change.

I apologize for the low quality image, I will capture a better image later tonight after I'm done work. Yes, I suggest everyone to check engine oil from time to time, the VW manual actually says to check engine oil when refueling (on flat surface, after waiting 10minutes for the oil to settle).

THANKING THE VW ENGINEERS for keeping the engine oil dip sticks!!!

Ideally you check the oil cold... that's what I do.
I try and get it to this point.View attachment 305214
I remember a shop I used to go to long time ago told me if the oil level is in the middle (hashed area of the dipstick), it's good to go and only to add oil if it drops down to the bottom bend... I rather add engine oil until it reaches the top bend or right under MAX (under the "X") as that's where the engine oil is at when I get an oil change done. It makes more sense to keep the engine oil closer to MAX than MIN.... IMO.

I used to check engine oil cold, but the VW manual says to check after driving the car for 30 minutes or until the engine temp is at operating temps, and after parking on a flat surface (big factor) and waiting 10 minutes for oil to flow down to the oil pan.
