Hey everyone,

I did my 20k Maintenance yesterday and it looks like it requires a new fuel filter every 20k? Is this right? Any other pointers for preventative maintenance. Some one suggested plugs every 20k, is this true?

no. plugs are every 60k...fuel filter is either every 60 or 80k I think.

u sure you dont mean cabin and air 'if you still have one that u replace' filter? 20K on an 08 FSI is oil, filter, rotate, cabin filter, and that ever-important-dont forget 'grease' for the sunroof rails

+ of course if you swap out your pads [brake inspection complete], change your DP [exhaust system check], check for rattles [oops, VW left that one out ] and change your wheels at that mark [rotated, check] your already halfway to VW protocol.

I dunno it say fuel filter on the maintenance scheduale in the manual. People are saying that there is a built in fpr on the filter and it is unique in that the pump is driven by the camshaft, so it is important to change the fuel filter.

Speaking about sunroof rails, what do you use to grease them up? I have been using silicone spray and works pretty good without the gunk of grease!

not seeing that. here's the 20K service from VW.com
[now of course, the fuel filter is not listed at any mileage point :iono:]

yeah apparently the filter was for a TDI only, pretty dumb on my part.
