So, i ordered my complete band kit a few weeks ago on amazon because I didnt want to deal with finding one at the stores. And i finally got it today:happyanim: ....I take about 20 min opening the boxes and setting up my game. Finally everything is synced and im ready to "rock!" So i give it a few rounds(really loving the sound track). My cousin and uncle come over and we even do a few songs together. I ate dinner, came back and after a couple of songs my drum set seems to not be responding:mad: Everything works but the left cymbal. I switch up the cymbals and again its the left cymbal that doesnt respond.  I reconnect, restart, change the batteries the whole nine yards and still nothing. So i read my manual and looked online at activision support site and file the warranty claim and as im doing this my friend is testing out the drums and making sure everything is indeed plugged in. He comes into my room and tells me that now both cymbals are not responding :mad0259:    . Im sooo pissed. I just spent $200 on this game that ive been waiting for for months now. Now I have to deal with their claims department :mad0259: .
I then googled the game and I found out that im not the only one with this problem. And Activision actually admitted their drum sets might be faulty  :paddle: :flame: . And now i wait to see what happens. Any advice? Thoughts?

Wow man! I hope you didn't get a lemon, that would suck giant spider penis!!
Here's mine too. I went to 4 Game Stops and nothing. Finally, I went to WalMart to get some club soda and guess what I see on one of the shelves:

Good luck on your drums and I hope I don't get the same. Xd fingers.
I love the music selection. Most notably Michael Jackson's "Beat It!"

Yeah so... Just got done playing World Tour for about 30 mins...
The right (orange) cymbal doesn't work. My brother purchased it at Best Buy so he's gonna exchange it and let them know what the fuck is up. Shitty.
Other than that, the song selection is great.

This is why sometimes I buy locally for certain items such as this. It's a lot easier to take it back to whoever sold the item to me.

True but i wanted to save time and money (there was no tax)
Anyway I just requested a replacement from amazon. Which will be shipped soon. I have 30 days to return my defective band kit. And they will pay for the shipping at UPS. So not too bad. Ill just have to wait more...:frown:

The best part about wanting something is the anticipation. I think it makes it all the more exciting.:bellyroll:

I picked up the game on Sunday, using my rock band instruments/guitar hero 2 guitar. Lots of fun, but seems much easier than GH III.

I may have missed it, so I apologize, but what system do you guys have? I wonder if the problems are more prevalent on some systems than on others. :iono:

So, you mean to say that the defects are across the the board on all platforms? Hard ware issues all around courtesy of Activision and RedOctane!!
I'm kinda worried now. :iono:

Can one of you PLEASE explain to me the attraction of playing these types of video games? They have blown up all over the place over the past 2 years (since I quit playing games) and I really don't understand it at all. I played one of the GH games a few months back while hopped up on bacardi 151 and it was slightly entertaining then, but I don't know how into it I would be sober.
I think it may have something to do with the fact that I grew up playing instruments so the idea of computerized ones doesnt appeal to me. do any of you play real instruments?

I used to play the drums when I was in high school. I gave it up because it's too noisy for my old room mates when I went to college, and I didn't want to spring for electric drums. Both my brothers play instruments, one plays the guitar and the other picked up after me and plays the drums for a band. My uncle also played the guitar, but more acoustics. He used to play like the folksy stuff like James Taylor and he was pretty good too. My little cousin goes to The Ohio State and is in the band, but I don't think she starts. I think she's on back up or something like that. She's just a fresh man. So I come from a musical family.
Needless to say, these electronic musical games is great fun and hours of entertainment. Whenever me and my siblings get together, we play these games. I play one guitar, my bro plays lead guitar, my other bro plays drums, and my sis plays.
I don't get the hatred it gets like when you go to youtube and some one's posted playing in expert, and all the "real instrument players," go in there and bash the guy for posting his game playing. That is just so ignorant and childish. Comments like, "now go and play a real instrument!" is very immature and uncalled for. Just like any other game, GH and Rock Band are just for entertainment. The whole idea on hating on these games just really irks me a whole lot. I liken that to people who play Forza or Gran Tourismo. Can you imagine Lewis Hamilton or Michael Schumacher making a comment like, "now go drive a real formula car!" to these kids who are just having fun? Or someone who posts Halo 3 scenes and a real Master Chief who is a Navy SEAL says, "now go fight some real Iraquis!" Wouldn't that just irritate you? (Btw, my dad is a retired Commander in the US Navy. He has a lot of SEAL buddies, and they all play like SoCom and Halo. It's fun, as they like to tell us).
It's entertainment, I think we all should appreciate it like it is.
I'll tell you a story. Me, my bro, my sis and her bf went out to Dave and Buster's one night. I live in SD, so there's a lot of jar heads out here. There was this dude playing DDR and just minding his bees wax. Well, two marines come up to him and challenge him. It turns out the two jar heads didn't even really know how to play DDR. They just pretty much bugged this dude, who was like 150 lbs. wet with boots on. Well, the DDR dude got all mad and called the Marine an ass hole. So, the marine dude wanted to beat his ass and is like yelling at DDR dude with his face almost touching the guy. I mean yelling and spitting, totally bogus man! My sister, she's so brave, steps in between and tried to stop the fight (she had a couple of shots of Chivas).
Well, me and her bf pretty much had to back her up and were like ready to start throwing down on some yoked out jar heads. I'll tell you, I did a little bit of MMA training with my buddy from Illinois, but I haven't fought anyone in like two years. I was really not ready for a fight, but what ever. Well, luckily, security comes by and kicks out the two jar heads (DDR dude had a friend who called security). I was so glad nothing happened.
Moral of the story is, don't pick on nerds because they have feelings too! I'm not directing this at you, just making a point. It's all entertainment, so take it for what it's worth.
Sorry for the long rant.

x2. Ive played the drums for 6 years(recently havent played for last 2 years) and this game is so fun. Along with Rock band. Its just the fact that you feel like youre in it and all. Theres a difference between buddies coming over to drink or fam to have fun and play some GH WT or having friends bring over all the equipment, instruments, setup and then start jamming. I love all these music games, they are fun. And for you all that have been playing guitar/drums for years upon years. Get on this game and see how good you are "electronically", youll see its alot harder then you would think. It wont be as hard as playing the stairway to heaven solo but it wont be easy. Just give it a shot before you all start ragging on it.

And agreed!
I love how some musicians forget that this game is for entertainment and that gamers don't feel like they can automatically play a real guitar if you play these games (even though professional musicians like Earosmith and Slash endorse these games). It's so fun to share time with friends and family.

Rock Band 2 is the life of the party at any party... There have been times that I take my whole Xbox and Rock Band set to a friends house, and I end up sleeping there with everyone because of how much fun we were having and didn't feel like going home at 5 am when we STOPPED playing lol... After playing Rock Band, I've been dying to try and learn how to play guitar or drums, but I simply don't have the time or will power to learn... Still... these games rule
