I've still got weeks until my fast arrives from da Fatherland.

In preparation for its arrival I have on purchase order:

4- 2 ton jack stands (own a 2 1/2 ton jack)

oil filter drain tool from SnapOn tools

case of Amsoil 5w-40 mo oil

Zaino Total Protection Show Car Kit

Swiffer Duster for interior dash

Rain-X Glass Polish

and I'm running out of ideas here. Not trying to be totally anal but, at the same time, want to keep it clean and running well while doing all routine maintenance myself.

Any additional ideas appreciated.

Don't waste your time on Rain-X. Just Zaino the outsides of your windows. They will bead up just as well and you can use the Z6 on them to keep them clean in between washes. Saves you some coin.

great idea Dyno! any suggestions... I have one of those dollar store ones right now.

I have a couple of Accugage units, (one lives in my GTI) I also have the same type from Bluepoint/snap-on. I recommend the kind shown in this link, the hose makes it easy to use. I also like the bleed button for accurate pressure adjustment.

Expect to spend $20-25 for an Accugage, $30 ish for a blue point. Also, I suggest gettting the rubber boot that fits around the gauge, it will help to protect the unit.
