has anyone here taken a long road trip...like 20+ hours in their GTI?

I did about 2,500 miles in a week last summer. Overall, it was great. Averaged over 30 mpg (unless you go much over 85mph), leather seats are very comfortable for long periods. Only complaint with the car in general is road noise is a little too loud.

i was around 35 hours on the road, it took 2 days plus break in the night for sleep . i have to say that it was quite good sleep :)
and when i was in germany i had to try their autobahn. 200km/h but my engine was going deep into the redline :thumbdown: (vw website claims that my max speed is 189km/h i think)
but the trip itself was cool. . .

i've had two 2000+ mile road trips in the GTI so far...loved every second of it. even the road noise didn't bother me too much, and i have the leather seats as well, and the side bolsters are very comfortable on long trips

The longest I've done is 7.5 hours. The car was pretty comfy, but I was definitely happy to be done driving.
