This is directly off of STLVW.org. So if any MKV's want to go, join the site(you must pay dues of $20 membership for the year to go on drive) or look on this thread for updates. We probably wont have as many cars as we did last time but this is a different route and looks very fun. so join in!

This saturday. The guy was drunk last weekend so i didn't let him work on it. hahah. He finished painting the fender, grille, filled the bumper notch and painted the bumper. All it's left to do is to weld the piece onto the hood, paint it, and put all the new parts on.

I'm not a paid member and I don't plan to be. (I've discussed my issues with dues with Jockers, so I'm not gonna do it here.) But there's no law against me following a group of VW's around:)

It's the principle of the matter. Not the amount. Back in 03-04 everyone paid their dues, then they decided to change the cycle of payment, and even if you paid a month before, you still had to pay again. That's when I quit going to meetings. I made a few friends, and that was great, but there were things I didn't like and I've heard the same thing from others. They may not be vocal about it, but they still think it. Who cares if you don't pay? So what, that person doesn't get a T-Shirt or whatever, I'm sure everyone would survive.

i understand principle, and i am very strong on principle. but for this, keep in mind it isnt for profit, if you havent paid in 4 years and have used the forums or anything it is costing them money. but don't be too proud, that can become a flaw. And i think voicing that and then coming to the drive anyways would be downright disrespectful, making you look far worse than those who created the payment problem 4 years ago.

I hear you, and I really wouldn't come. It's not like that would make it a fun time for anyone. I rarely use the boards, I sold my MK4 in 05 and didn't get the Mk5 until January of this year. I'm just saying, to exclude someone from a drive because they haven't paid money so they're good enough to hang out with you? I can see if you haven't paid and you want special things like discounts, t-shirts, ect. But the having to be a paid member to go on a drive, maybe where one could meet the rest of the club and feel them out to see if it's the right thing for you, is retarded and I don't want to be a part of anything like that.

What exactly was the story from back 4 years ago?
I't only $20. Why make such a fuss out of it. If they did you so wrong why are you on boards anyways?

They didn't do me wrong per se`, I just don't think you should have to pay to hang around with people. Period. Last time I talked to Ben he assured me things had changed, apparently they didn't, or didn't for long. There are many knowledgeable people in the club and I could be one more.
It also wouldn't be so bad paying if they didn't make such a fuss about it. It always seems to be at the top of the lists of musts.

I was, but decided I didn't want to spend that much money on it. Then I found the B&G's.

Yeah it does cost a pretty penny, plus I heard it has to be custom because there isn't a kit for our cars yet. Post some pics somewhere so we can see that ish dropped.

No, they have a few kits available for MK5's. I'll put pics up eventually, they're not any lower than when the PSS9's were on.

Oh I thought it had to be custome made cause flow did it. And why aren't B&Gs lower than PSS9's? Don't go lower? Or you don't want to go lower? Should have just kept the PSS9's
