Just a suggestion, couldn't you just return the unit and get your full $160 back? You say and show that it is unopened.

i would i just waited to long cause its past the 30 days cause i figured i was just gonna install it but know i need money cause i just bought a laptop for vag-com

no someone already bought it. It should work on the rabbit because it is compatable with almost all VWs. But if you have any other questions about it feel free to ask because i already installed one on my friends gti and it was fairly easy just time consuming.
