I am going back to the dyno tomorrow but i would like to get a tq reading this time

the last time we couldnt find which wire to tap into

when exposed, the spark plug wires have a bunch of different colors

anyone have a picture on where to connect for a tq reading?

thanks

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Honestly. Your dyno doesn't take measurements at the wheels?

Either way, as long as you have a method of measuring the Horsepower and RPM's, you can dind torque.

Horsepower = Torque(in ft/lbs) x RPM / 5252

So, once you know the HP and RPM, you can just plug those into the equation and figure out the TQ. Or, in your case

Torque = Horsepower x 5252 / RPM

It should be the same as where you get your rpm reading for your HP

last time i just got hp reading through the rollers, no wires attached to the car

Exactly, the rollers measure work and therefore report HP. Torque is then calculated using RPM.

Looks like your question got answered on the Tex. :smile:

You have two options.. an OBD2 conection which the dyno operator probably doesnt have, or a inductive pickup on a coil wire.

When you pull the plastic sheath off the wire loom you can see the 4 wires going to each coil, from there you can just pick and choose wires, there are only 4 and you got a few differnt combinations. Try it till you get an accurate reading.

you need to go to a new place
this place sounds like they are clueless

x2. finding the right wire isn't rocket science. any competent place should be able to find it, though it might take them a while, if they're not familiar with vw.

When I got dynoed we couldnt get a reading either. I guess we will have to undo the wire loom and just tap into each wire until we get a read :D
