and what about batteries and stuff?
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-28-2009, 05:31 PM
i found one extensive website about electric vehicles and i dropped my idea
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-28-2009, 05:31 PM
way toooooooooooooooooooooo complicated
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-28-2009, 05:31 PM
and even more dangerous if not done properly
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-28-2009, 05:32 PM
do you think that a new 1,4TSI will fit into mk2?
GTI2007
03-28-2009, 05:33 PM
I already saw pics from Germany of a 2.0T engine from the MK5 GTI in a MK2
GTI2007
03-28-2009, 05:34 PM
so a 1.4 TSI is a piece of cake then
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-28-2009, 05:34 PM
160hp with such a small car must be deadly combination
GTI2007
03-28-2009, 05:34 PM
Seems like we just brought this thread over 12k posts

nice idea, but do u know what is my dream? old VW T1 Transporter, fitted with new 2.0TDI and custom interior
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-28-2009, 05:39 PM
something like this http://www.lkw-infos.eu/images/oldtimer/woernitz-2005/teil-4/VW-T1-Eischer-020905-01.jpg

Sounds like a nice idea. Hope you can have it somewhere in the future
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-28-2009, 05:49 PM
well, i cant find it anywhere on the internet for sale, and when it comes to engine, i would most likely use mine from my current car, with some modifications of course. this car is very rare

GTI2007
03-29-2009, 08:40 AM
But according to the news it's getting a bit warmer here the coming week
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 08:42 AM
right, should be around 20 degrees celsius next week
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 08:44 AM
That would be so much better then the current 9 degrees Celcius
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 08:47 AM
yep, i hope my AC will work in my car in summer
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 08:57 AM
At least you already have a car of your own
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 09:04 AM
dont worry, just wait. it will be well worth it
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 09:12 AM
I hope the RGTI/R20 is really worth the wait I have to do for it
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 09:15 AM
it will be. if i was like u, i could have waited for mkvi, buy 1.4 tsi and still have a lot of money for mods AND i wouldnt crash it (i would, but it would be some old car that i wouldnt care so much)
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 09:18 AM
You could be right but the RGTI/R20 is compared to what I drive now a huge improvement in HP
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 09:31 AM
but i suppose u have much more experience, and u are more intelligent then i was
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 09:45 AM
I have almost 8 years of driving a car without even getting into an accident or even getting a ticket
Adv4nc3r_Mk5

GTI2007
03-29-2009, 09:56 AM
Right now I would be very happy to have an MK5 TDI instead of my f***ing slow MK4 SDI
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 09:57 AM
in first year of having my driving license i had my first ticket (no license plate - happened on my way home from dealer ship - WTF? lol)
then i run into other car which was in front of me waitin in traffic (broken grill, not a big deal)
then backed into other car on car park pretty hard, but nothing destroyed
and finally i destroyed my whole car
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 09:59 AM
Right now I would be very happy to have an MK5 TDI instead of my f***ing slow MK4 SDI
at least u have 4 wheels to get u where u need..
.. so later u can release that FAST inside of u in RGTI
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 10:03 AM
That's true and then I have to see how far I'm willing to take it on amount of modding
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:05 AM
i dont think there will be much to mod on such car
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:06 AM
wheels, coilovers or springs, maybe tint
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:06 AM
and then u can try to make front look like mkv r32, but i would do that as last
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 10:07 AM
While also going badgeless all around
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 10:08 AM
coilovers or springs
I'm thinking of doing airride
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:09 AM
i was thinking the same, but it takes toooooooooooo much of your cargo space
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 10:10 AM
I don't care about my trunk cause there will be going a pair of subwoofers into it most likely so the little extra stuff of the airride will not make such a big deal
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:14 AM
dude, u will make your car weight too much and u will lose all your great power u payed for
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 10:16 AM
The car will be stage 2 at least which means around 340-350 HP
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:17 AM
why do u need so much power?
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 10:19 AM
To have a really fun car that's able to beat cars that cost 2 to 3 times as much
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:23 AM
but u will make your car cost 2 or 3 times more anyway
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 10:26 AM
Like all my mods are going to cost me around 35 to 70k €??
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:29 AM
well, i have no idea
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:29 AM
im just keeping our converssation alive
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 10:31 AM
Even with the sound system and airride in the trunk it's going to be lighter then the current R32 which weighs around 1541 kg
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:34 AM
ok, i suppose u know what u are talking about
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 10:48 AM
Probably also going to reduce the weight in the front a bit by replacing the battery to the trunk
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 10:53 AM
u already planned everything as i see
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 10:55 AM

Adv4nc3r_Mk5

Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 11:15 AM
actually nobody has seen me with my car in here. except for one old friend
when i bought my car i took it straight to england, and i came back in september ...
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 11:17 AM
I personally would never have bought an 5 door Golf. The 3 door version looks so much more sporty IMO
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 11:18 AM
its a matter of taste, personally i dont like the look of 3door
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 11:23 AM
There's also a 36 kg weight difference between similar equipped 3 and 5 door Golfs
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 11:28 AM
i remember when i was traveling back home from england, i was so packed that i was almost rubbing  full trunk, 3 ppl and a child. My car felt like it had only 50hp

i cant find any good alloys on ebay
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 11:34 AM
Don't think that eBay is a good place to find decent wheels
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 11:35 AM
i def cant afford new ones either
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 11:35 AM
i found some audi 17s for 250
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 11:36 AM
i will see what will be available few months later
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 11:36 AM
im going out now, see u later, maybe this evening
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 11:38 AM
What size wheels you have now? Or were they also destroyed in the accident
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 11:38 AM
See you later Boris
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 12:27 PM
What size wheels you have now? Or where they also destroyed in the accident
right now i have 3 alloys, size 15. 4th was totally destroyed (another mystery). i cant find a shop that will sell just one of them so i have to buy new set (preferably 17")
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 12:34 PM
That's a pretty good size to start with for a daily driven TDI
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 02:23 PM
actually, 17" are the biggest wheels that law allows on my car
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 02:24 PM
I know for sure that I already saw 105 HP TDI's with 19" wheels here in Belgium
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 02:25 PM
thats possible, but i dont live in Belgium
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 02:28 PM
Some countries are indeed a lot worse on the rules
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 02:28 PM
Is this the law of the UK or Slovakia?
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 02:32 PM
just Slovakia. in UK u can even buy a new golf with 18 already fitted
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 02:40 PM
Then you have another reason to definitely move to the UK
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-29-2009, 02:41 PM
new golf is much more cheaper over there, but i dont know if i get used to other side of the car
GTI2007
03-29-2009, 04:27 PM
That's the biggest downside to the UK I guess
Adv4nc3r_Mk5

Hi Johan.i went to my car today, he already started taking apart my front, shouldnt take too long till he finishes it.
But here is a little story:
I came there, and i saw a huge pile of my interior and exterior parts. And in front of that i saw Jetta front, with chrome middle part. I was like DAAAAAAAAAMN, i love that guy, i totaly love him.
And then he came to me and said: No Boris, thats for someone else...
F*CK, i wanted to punch him in his fat face so hard  that really destroyed my mood...
And then i asked him about those side strips, and he said: Dont worry, we will sort it out. It sounded almost like: Just GET THE F*CK OUT..

what a tool. He can arrange that for another guy but not for you and that's supposed to be a friend of your dad?
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 12:46 PM
their relation is lil bit complicated. when i told him i want jetta front he said that he already bought me original for my car
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 12:47 PM
im going to buy jetta front anyway, just need to get my hands on some money. silver mkv with jetta front is too sexi

GTI2007
03-30-2009, 02:13 PM
That looks indeed much better then the stock Golf bumper
GTI2007
03-30-2009, 02:13 PM
Are you also planning to do xenon headlights or just keep the stock halogen ones?
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 02:31 PM
halogens are good enough for me
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 02:33 PM
jetta front is not that expensive, i can find main bumper for 70 euros on ebay, plus another 70 to 100 e for centre part and around 50 for grills i guess
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 02:33 PM
i need to make a list, cos i want too much
Adv4nc3r_Mk5

so, how was your day Johan?
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 02:42 PM
sorry Johan for talking just about myself, i promise it will change as soon as i get my car back on my carpark. im not always like this. its just now, i cant think about anything else

GTI2007
03-30-2009, 03:06 PM
I'm really starting to consider to buy myself a second handed 105 HP 1.9 TDI cause I really hate the current situation where I need to share a car with my dad and with my current job I can also afford it I guess and if I would trade it in for the R20/RGTI next year or else 2011 it would save me like 10k €
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 03:06 PM
i thought u are not here
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 03:07 PM
or maybe u should look around for a mkvi gti instead of waiting for rgti. there is still pretty big chance it wont be awd
GTI2007
03-30-2009, 03:07 PM
I just checked in and saw that you posted me a question so I answered it
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 03:08 PM
a new mkvi gti costs in UK around 24000 pounds. thats insane. I payed 28000 for my regular golf
GTI2007
03-30-2009, 03:09 PM
I want a car right now and my budget is not that big. I guess around 15k € and the base MK6 GTI costs 26.6k € already
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 03:14 PM
yep, our prices are little bit bigger then in uk. its your choice
Adv4nc3r_Mk5

GTI2007
03-30-2009, 03:35 PM

Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 03:37 PM

what?? thats terrible. i dont think its that expensive over here
GTI2007
03-30-2009, 03:39 PM

Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 03:44 PM
Well, if u wanna go that way..
GTI2007
03-30-2009, 03:47 PM

Adv4nc3r_Mk5
03-30-2009, 03:49 PM
well, u can still consider 2.0 TDI and remap it to 170 hp with really massive amount of torque
GTI2007
03-30-2009, 03:51 PM
Most second hand Golfs here are only 1.9 TDI's
Adv4nc3r_Mk5

03-31-2009, 05:12 PM
so u are saying u had very long and exhausting day
GTI2007
03-31-2009, 05:32 PM
Indeed. The sun was shining beautifully outside and I had to sit inside to work. No wonder the day took forever
Adv4nc3r_Mk5

GTI2007
04-03-2009, 12:08 PM
I'm done working at 4:30 pm, then drive home by car where I get around 5:00 pm. Right now it's already 6:08 pm and I have to go eat in a little while
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-03-2009, 12:12 PM
what are u doing after that?
GTI2007
04-03-2009, 12:43 PM
In half an hour I'm going to walk our dogs
rollenbu
04-03-2009, 12:44 PM
What's up Johan?
GTI2007
04-03-2009, 12:44 PM
After that it's going to be watching some tv or doing some PWing in here
GTI2007
04-03-2009, 12:44 PM
Pretty good Becca. I'm glad it's weekend and how about you?

04-03-2009, 12:48 PM
I'm good. Getting my car back outta the shop on Monday.
GTI2007
04-03-2009, 03:29 PM
I'm really thinking of getting myself a second hand 140 HP 2.0 TDI to have something a bit more powerful then a 68 HP SDI to get me throw the 10 month wait at least for the R-GTI
GTI2007
04-04-2009, 07:01 AM
and maybe I can keep this car as the family car for the future gf while I cruise around with the BT R-GTI
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-04-2009, 07:07 AM
that would be super sweet. economic mkv and ultramegafast mkvi rgti
GTI2007
04-04-2009, 07:15 AM
That was what I was thinking also. Probably going to mod the TDI to make it look like a GTI or in other words a sort of GTD
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-04-2009, 07:19 AM
well, i dont really like the look of honeycomb grill
GTI2007
04-04-2009, 07:25 AM
Probably going to do the grill this way:
http://web17.server27.publicompserver.de/image014.jpg
but then also without the GTI badge
GTI2007
04-04-2009, 07:26 AM
well, i dont really like the look of honeycomb grill
Then why would you buy a MK6 GTI cause that also has a honeycomb grill?
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-04-2009, 12:49 PM
so u are sayin honeycomb is the only important thing on GTI? i would buy it because of engine and sportier look. i believe there are companys that are already working on new bumpers for it
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-04-2009, 12:50 PM
and while im looking on pictures of mkvi and mkvi gti, i think i would put ordinary mkvi bumper on front
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-04-2009, 12:55 PM
i would love to pw for a bit but im going out in a minute, with a GIRL. dont worry, she is just my friend  nothing is gonna happen
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-04-2009, 12:56 PM
but tomorrow i will seriously spam this forum to get to 3k
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-04-2009, 12:56 PM
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-04-2009, 12:56 PM
anybody knows why is it so important to me? i have no idea
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-04-2009, 12:57 PM
last two to make it 2,800
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-04-2009, 12:57 PM
and this one, and im done. see u tomorrow..
GTI2007
04-04-2009, 03:05 PM
Nothing beats the stock bumper of the MK5 GTI IMHO
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 03:28 AM
nothing beats R32 or Jetta bumper IMO
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 06:30 AM
Not be picky but the Jetta bumper is the same as the GTI bumper except for the honeycomb grills on the GTI
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 06:59 AM
Not be picky but the Jetta bumper is the same as the GTI bumper except for the honeycomb grills on the GTI
thats what i ment. i said i dont like honeycomb, plus jetta middle is chrome instead of ordinary black
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 07:18 AM
I'm also a big fan of the chrome middle piece of the Jetta but I would put in on in combination with the honeycomb grills if I would do it
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 07:20 AM
everybody has different taste
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 07:21 AM
thats why they are so many unique cars out there
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 07:25 AM
That's the real fun part of modding the same car with a lot of people so you can see how everybody else does mod their car and you can see their taste on wheels and so on
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 07:33 AM
i still dont know if i should keep money and buy myself mkvi with better engine or just make some mods to my car
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 07:33 AM
i guess i will see after driving around in my mkv in a week or so
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 07:34 AM
but then again, if something will be wrong, i will have very hard time finding a buyer
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 07:38 AM
You could be right but if you are honest about it you will find a buyer for it
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 07:41 AM
if my car will behave as before, then i suppose i will use it for another 3 or 4 years and then i will buy mkvi just before mkvii kicks in
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 07:42 AM
are u going to mod mkv if u buy it?
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 07:45 AM
I think so but probably going for a OEM+ look with 19" VW/Audi wheels and maybe the GTI front lip, sideskirts and rear valence combined with the GTI exhaust
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 07:49 AM
Also considering to change the stock halogen headlights for the better xenon ones and maybe change out the stock taillights for LED taillights
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 07:52 AM
afaik Johan u wont be able to fit gti front lip to basic mkv bumper
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 07:54 AM
That's why I also going to get the GTI/Jetta front bumper
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 07:58 AM
i cant decide between jetta front bumper or just adding front lip, which is basically the same price
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 08:00 AM
I would go for the Jetta front bumper. It looks so much better then the stock Golf bumper IMO
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 08:07 AM
i will see this summer. if i find whole front on ebay, then i will possibly do it
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 08:12 AM
I'm probably just going for the easiest way which is the local dealer. Too bad it's also one of the most expensive ways
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 08:28 AM
We really could use a 3rd or maybe even a 4th guy to do the PWing with in here
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 09:00 AM
i was outside with my bro for a minute, sorry
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 09:00 AM
so u are gonna buy a new mkv, then?
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 09:04 AM
No, a second hand one from November 2007
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 09:06 AM
thats a great year
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 09:06 AM
u gonna have bro of my tdi
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 09:10 AM
Maybe if I can get details on the differences between the 140 and the 170 HP 2.0 TDI engines that I could maybe going to rebuild my 140 HP TDI to a 170 HP one and chip that to around 200 to 205 HP then.
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 09:11 AM
i guess its primary the factory chip, that makes the difference. plus maybe different valves or that kind of thing
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 09:18 AM
I thought I read different injectors and maybe a slightly bigger turbo and of course a better software tune
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 09:19 AM
Would love to have a copy of ETKA to make sure of every engine part of both engines
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 09:22 AM
its definitely do-able if u have money
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 09:23 AM
with 200hp TDI u dont even need GTI
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 09:23 AM
i guess it will be faster like gti
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 09:25 AM
From a standstill not but I guess from a rolling start that the GTI is going to have a very hard time to get rid of you
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 09:26 AM
Cause the 170 HP TDI gets around 430 Nm of Torque after the flash
Adv4nc3r_Mk5
04-05-2009, 09:32 AM
then u will be albe to put GTD badge on it
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 09:39 AM
That would be the badge I would want to put on it if I at least put a badge on to it
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 09:40 AM
I will probably address it as a GTD then altough the car itself would be totally badgeless
GTI2007
04-05-2009, 09:41 AM
I'm now officially first on the list of amount of posts in this very thread
