So let me start off by saying that I finally got my GTI over here in korea. luckily all in one piece. No dings dents or scratches, I was so excited. I have been driving my fast all over Seoul Korea. Here is the problem. Yesterday night coming home it started squealing really loud. At first thought i shit a breakpad, but when I came to a stop it still was squealing like a fan belt. I noticed taday that when I started the car up it felt like it had a rough idle, almost like it was missing or had a bad sparkplug. It did not make the squeling noise though, not untill the car got good and warm. so when I am on the gas pedal nothing but when I let off the accelerator it starts squealing again. Any ideas, anything at all? I have to take it to a dealer tomorrow, Ill let you guys know how well VW in Korea is.

I don't really know what that could be off of the top of my head. Try listening for it from the outside of the car and pinpoint the general area it is coming from. And if all else fails, just bring it back to your dealer and have them figure it out.

I did check it fromthe outside and the noise is so loud it is hard to tell exactly where it is coming from. on the serpentine belt side is where i thought it was coming from but then i go to the other side and it sounds the same. It is ging to the dealer tomorrow, only issue is that I need to find one and hope it is a good one.
I thought it would be the belt as well but the rain that has dropped really wouldnt haave an effect cause the roads have been dry and moreover it starts when the car has warmed up or when i really get on the gas pedal. And not to mention the rough idle it is doing. Oh well as soon as i get to the bottom of it ill let yall know.
Oh yea did i mention the service engine light came on as well.

if it's a belt it'll be the timing belt. although for it to squeal like that while you're off the throttle it has to be looser than a Vegas hooker.

So it is fixed. after driving around for about an hour and a half to find the damn work shop. The techs were very nice but hard as hell to communicate with. The only issue is that I need to contact VW because they could not honor my warantee because of a technicality. Major Bullshit. They said because the dealer stamp is not in the front of the book with the delivery mmiles they could not do the work under warrenty. well I have no idea what the part is, but I took pictures of it. They also reflashed the computer and they also found like 8 failure codes. If any one knows what this part is let me know please.
