Hello.....

I tried to install the spacer this weekend on my girlfriend's new 06 GTI and I had to give up :iono: on it. The problem I was facing was the top bolt that I had no way to take it out. 2 out 3 bolts were piece of cake, but I had so much trouble with the last one. I was using the "L" shaped allen key and with the space that is available for me....i think there is no way I can do this......so I had no choice but to quit on the job. How did you guys take the top bolt out? Can I see some picture of allen key that is being used? Sorry, it was a little frustrating weekend for me.

negative on the L-shape key, u need a socket wrench and socket piece. A LOT easier.

i used an l shaped one, and it sucked so bad it took me about an hour to get it turning so little everytime, you just gota stay at it, in the end its worth it, i think the spacer sounds sick
took me a little under 10 minutes with a smal socket wrench and the allen sockt piece. its worth it in the end like mk said.

I tried using an L shaped allen key as well, I gave up coz it was going to take too long. Looks like Im going to have to buy a 4mm hex socket instead

I'm assuming you used an extention with that socket wrench? what length?

no extension. just a small 3/8 wrench with the socket stated above.

the socket will be easiest. I used an "L" shaped allan wrench. It's difficult to get enough torque with so little room to move but you just gotta push on it. The last bolt took me probabl 30 mins total. Having the wrench would def. help.

It vents the turbopressure in to the atmosphere when you release the throttle instead of recirculate it like it normally would do.

so thats why there is the 'psss...' sound right?

Indeed. That's the only thing it does.
