View Full Version : Muffler Suggestion ...
Hey,
I'm doin' some reseach on my upcommin' custom exhaust, basicly it will be exactly like Awe Tuning's and Techtonics Tuning's. Its gonna be 2.5" and I'm choosing between an oval tip or a dual tip.
My question is what muffler should I use, the one inside the red box in the pic that's in the middle. I'm choosing between Borla and Magnaflow. Input please!
Thanks

What oval tip do you plan on using? It would have to be awfully big to fill up the space left in the bumper cover by the stock dual tips.
Double square tips would look good, and be different from everyone else as well.

yea, me too ... do you know which muffler in particular from borla should i be using? probably not the XR-1 Racing ones right, i can only imagine it being really loud. i read on another forum that the ProXS series is the way to go when doin a custom job with Borla muffler.

that's my concern with oval tip, it'll have to be big to fill up the space. i thought about dual squares too but i don't think it'll look nice with the mkv. so i'll probably go with just dual ones similar to stock but maybe with a angle cut.

Borla alway's a good choice. Don't settle for dual tips if you want an oval one. If your making a custom exhaust you can get a plethara of tip options to work.

Borla or Magnaflow, they are all the same, trust me:wink:
thanks guys, i heard a custom magnaflow setup on my frd's 337, its sweet.
i'll go with a offset/offset 2.5" magnaflow setup, will probably have it done by next week.

without turbo mod the engine only breaths so much air. If you wanna make noise lose the resignator and save your money till your stock system wears out or you mod the turbo. You wont make more perfomance just more noise.
