I like this one. It's not crazy over the top like Mattig's and some other crazy kits. This one just makes the stock bumper more aggressive. This is something a tasteful person would get :)

Yea thats a good looking one. Aggressive but not in a "look at my modded car" kinda way.

The rear bumper comes in a single or double exhaust version:

I'm in love with that double exhaust rear bumper. Anyone know how much that type of exhaust costs and who makes it?

The exhaust is from Caractere itself and cost 900 € with the rear spoiler included. It cost only 500 € without the real spoiler. These prices I've found are from a shop in Germany

hmm, will this fit the GTi without comprimising the grill?

No, because the bumper and grill from Caractere are one piece but for the GTI they have a different original kinda-look bumper with or without the VW logo. But I don't really like it. If I would have to choose between the original GTI bumper and this Caractere GTI bumper I would prefer the original GTI bumper

Does anyone know what size the BBS CH on the red one are?
They look like 19's but I'm not sure...
I'm referring to this:

I really like the Caractere kit on std Golfs, but was a bit disappointed when I saw how the GTI kit dealt with the black snout. It's a backwards step IMO. Lucky to regular front looks so hot!

yawn.
The spoiler is ok, but the rest is far nicer as is.

This is definitely one of my favourite kits. The kinda thing someone look at and think theres something different buy quite put their finger on it....until you fly pass them and they see the sexy rear. lol.

Looking at them now Im a little disapointed. The exhaust tips stick out way to much in my opinion. If they were not sticking out as far I think the rear would look a lot better. But thats just me being picky.

Hmm I wonder if that front assembly would make my ABT full kit look too weird? My ABT front spoiler is just taking a beating with how low it is to the ground!

This is how the car should have come stock, sans the front bumper. It looks much more sporty but not gaudy.

the back bumper and exhaust setup looks great, as long as the tips don't stick out so freakin' far. i like how the tips sit on the white gti above.

The only thing I do not bite on this kit is the big black patch on the bumper above the exhaust. If it was one big CW piece I think it would look a lot better. And I agree with everyone about the exhaust sticking out to far. I don't like that much either.

I really want the front bumper but the price is too high.
Iv seen this kit in person on a golf in IN a vw garage, looks very nice on the car but the on i saw wasnt finished very well (rough texture and gaps in the bodywork) but no doubt its a very nice kit.
I also learned that you can get ur local VW garage to get in the kit for u but for a very hefty price tag, although its the same as prices iv seen everywhere else.

01-10-2008, 10:29 PM
Not worth all that cash IMO. Besides the sideskirts, it's really not all that different from just painting the OEM kit.
To each his own though, i saw a white mkv with full caractere kit here in vancity. I expected to be blown away :eyebulge: considering the price tag but alas...my facial expression stayed the same :word:
Caractere does a sick job with Audi's tho! :respekt:
